I think the old adage "Street racing is for corpses" applies nicely here.

I used to be amazed at the stupidity of these people. Give them a 2 litre engine and they think they are in a F1 race. When driving now if I see any type of sports car I assume the worst and rarely am I wrong (unfortunately).

I have never raced any of my cars (owned a BMW 323 previously) but the sheer pleasure of driving them and the way they hold they road just want to make you laugh at these idiots.

This I know is a generalisation but I often notice that the BMW drivers tend to drive safer at higher speeds. Is it that BMW drivers really apreciate their cars or that they have nothing to prove I wonder?

I'm not gonna lie, when I first got my car, I abused the hell out of it. My motor background comes from offroading and extreme motocross. I quickly grew out of it though and made sure I was always driving safely... Not necessarily slowly, but safely.

What rubbish. The design of the car plays a hell of a lot on car handling.

Put a well designed car (BMW) up against a mass produced car (holden Commodore) put the same wheels and tyres on them and I will bet my LEFF NUT the BMW will out handle the commodore all day long.

We know it is not a E39

AusBMW was just saying that HIS E39 handles fantastically

You could put the best tyres in the world on my E36 and it wouldn't grip as well as an E39!!

It looked like the RX was on a skid pan in the first race. However, in the second race the BMW was obviously having trouble overtaking coz the RX was all over the place and was obviously too proud to pull over and let the better car overtake!

Agree with Pirate's comment - Bimmers stick to the road like glue. Our E39 has the most amazing grip I have ever experienced in a car. She is amazing. You feel so safe. Mind you, she has never been driven like that!!!

As per usual, mum is 100 percent correct

Putting you foot down on a clear road or heal and toeing into a corner or burning someone off the lights for a couple of yards is one thing but actually RACING someone is just fcuking stupid...plain and simple!

On tv there is a commercial for the new holden calais. They rekon the handling, performance and overall package eclipses the bmw 540i.
they make me laugh big time!

Hey Dom, I know what they have said on the commercial, but I have driven the new SS (yes, not a calais but same car) and I can assure you that there not as good as the Bimmer. I will admit, a marked improvement on the last series, but better than a Bimmer....PPPFFFTTTTTT
