Or check out the build up of that car from start to finish. Really one of the best documented builds I have seen. I've been following it for what seems like years now.

Jon - Sorry if I came across as being upset. I assure that's not at all the case. I think that Paul's car deserves to win whatever the heck class he decides to enter in. I also think that you and the judges did a fantastic job, as always. However, as a BMW purist I would like to see a completely stock car -- and I mean completely stock -- win the Stock and Classic classes.

As you know, my M6 won the stock class last year (stayed home this year) and it is exactly as it was delivered to me new in 1988.

In any event, I had a great time and look forward to next year.

Thanks for the kind words Jon. Back in 2003 when I won 3rd place for the competition I was honored that I would be considered. I didn't even know the show was a competition and was very surprised I placed.

Bimmerfest to me is not about taking home a trophy or bragging rights. To me it's the community and the great memories that I have, and for the ones that will take place the following year, every year. That's why I go, and I thank you Jon for making this possible.

Every year I go I have no intention or a desire to win. I go there to hang out with people that I now consider very good friends to me. Although winning makes me very proud of my accomplishments with the E21. There are way too many nice cars there that deserve the recognition of their accomplishments and this year the scale of this showed. Every year I see cars that are very well put together and you can tell the level of detail that went into refining the car was not an easy task.

Our group had a discussion on the extremely well built (neither words nor pictures do it justice) twin turbo 02. It should have won in any category hands down. And Ron, I don't know how you do it, you have quite the collection of wonderful old school bimmers.

Congratulations to all the winners, you deserve it!

Oh, and Jon, I think I shook your hand in the VIP at Q's, don't know if I said much, but somehow me and another E21'er (Matt from AZ) ended up playing host to a bachelorette party of about 13 females and the night is a little hazy

Thanks for the trophy. I was taken by surprise. When I volunteered my car for the detail I was told I wouldn't be eligible. I have another rare bird ready for next years b-Fest.

Excellent to see all these amazing cars! The winners definately amazing!

After attending the Bimmerfest 2007 I got several requests to write something about it to our BMW Car Club Norway magazine "Fahrfreude". I will certainly try to relay our great experience at Bimmerfest 2007.

And it was my friend Joar that walked away with the furthest travelled trophy. One amazing trophy (now resting in the garage at the embassy here in DC), since he couldn't fit it in his suitcase (check http://wwardho.blogspot.com for our trip to Santa Barbara)

Jon: It was very nice to meet your wife. Did u send her to see if we really was from Norway? hehe If so, that's what I would do too. Say hi and have fun in Norway when you go visit (let me know if I can help you with anything in that regards).
