E36 Speakers...

Hi,

I've done research on my speakers, and know the sizes. I was stumped by Bav Soundwerks offer of an $89 tweeter upgrade on the 2.5" midrange replacement speakers:

Are these separate speakers located elsewhere that I might be missing? Also, speaker preferences, guys?

Thx,
Travis.

I believe those fit in your door. Some bimmers have 2 sets of speakers in thedoor then one set down below under the dash board by the footwalls.

My 94 318i only has the really small speakers in the door. Bummer.

There are some down in the kick panel, down by your feet. There are also some in the rear deck.

I bought the midrange speakers to replace blown stock speakers in my 99 e36... sound quality is excellent, though the stock speakers were blown and the wires cut when i initially bought the car, so i have no basis of comparison.

But yes, to answer your question, there are tweeters located right next to the midrange speakers; I've got el-cheapo tweeters that were put in by the previous owner that work just fine, you might be able to pick these up at wal-mart for $20 or so.

This picture is the only one that I can find that has a front view of the door panel with the speaker placement, it's been covered by carbon fiber though.. :\
