A must for any M52 323 or 328 is to fit the M50 Manifold along with a bored out throttle body. It's an instant 25 or more Bhp.
I've fitted the M50 manifold to mine with the Bored out throttle body and a CAI and my car is currently running 223 Bhp which is 33 Bhp up on a stock 328. BMW rate their power figures in PS so 193 PS is infact 190 Bhp.

Alright, quick question about CAIs...I'm not sure whether I want to go with a dry one or oiled one...the dry one is slightly cheaper. Are there any big differences in the two that I should be aware of? The oiled CAI is a K&N Intake while the dry one is an AFE intake. Any opinions on the AFE brand? I've heard a lot about K&N.

heard that the dry one is better since the oiled can possibly ruin your MAF

That is a very well discussed topic on here
I personally believe that K&N are the best and have NEVER had an issue with oil on my MAF

hey guys. i have been driving a 1994 325i manual for the last three years and i finally got a newer one. its a 1998 323is auto. the horsepower is around 20 less then the 325i but when i drive it feels much less so i have been reading this thread and decided to put in an air intake and an exhaust system.
just wanted some advice on everything. and if this is a good air intake and should i put it in. https://www.shopatron.com/product/pr...54-11362/534.0 |

Since you guys are on the topic of CAI, I am also leaning toward buying the dry one. I was thinking about putting Remus exhaust along with it. What do you guys think? I am relatively new. Suggestions will only help. Thanks.

Hey pirate this all seems to be very helpful. I just bought a 328is and love the power but always want more. According to this post It sounds like I should go with k+n or afe on the intake. but Like reyzendevil I would like to know what I should go with for an exhaust. Also somewhere way off in the future I would really love to drop a supercharger. Would it be worth it and how much would a decent quality one cost me?

Hey mate
The exhaust is a difficult one as it depends what you want from it with regard to sound? Loud? raspy? drone? As for the supercharger...they dont come cheap and the ones that do are...well...crap. The most popular (it seems) are... koperformance - http://www.koperformance.com/BMW/tur...gers/index.htm and atlanta superchargers - http://downingatlanta.com/downingatl...argers_new.htm Not had experiance myself but hear good things. check out the FI forum here - http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=127

Well right now I don't care about sound but I defiantly don't want some fart cannon hanging off the back of my car. I really just want a combination of a CAI and exhaust that will return the best ability to accelerate more quickly and give me more hp. By the way how much slower is an auto than a stick?

I checked out that supersprint muffler and actually found it for even cheaper than Jim. Coupled with a CAI is a new muffler all I need to get more hp or would a whole exhaust unit be needed. Sorry to keep bothering ya but yer a fountain of knowledge
