what affects a '92 318IS the most, performance wise, a short ram intake or a regular CAI??

Also are electric turbos all the hype they are mentioned to be? is it worth paying nearly $300 for one for my car and have to get a traditional CAI or should i just get a short ram air intake and be done with it?

Hey this site is cool and i have a 93 325is but when i got it the thing was just a shell so im fixing it and my bro made a engine for me hes a true pro at making engines and i dont know what he did to the engine but the car moves like a bat out of hell and he put on a sealed tranny its suppose to be a m50 engine but i beat chargers,vetts, and one g37 in one night !!!!!!! I own a 316i and i think this thread will be of great help and before you laugh at my engine size im only 17 and live in the UK so larger engines aren't an option (insurance). i think im going to require alot of these mods to give my baby some grunt lol!!!! at least i have near perfect body work!!!....and my modding has begun with some motorsport wheels! love them! designed for the car and in my eyes the best lookin wheels for an e36!!!

i can confirm that Iridium IX spark plugs are nothing more than a total waste of money!
just go with the regular NGK plugs the factory recommends.

also - CAI is the death of your engine. you could only imagine what kind of **** gets into your puppy if you use it daily

looking at the OP's list the FSTB (front strut tower brace) is listed near the end. in my mind i would do it before/same time as CAI/short ram.
just wondering what the reasoning is on that one?

I need to get one myself before several of those things.

I know he typed them flowing into each other (almost like an essay, I like it, easy to read ), but I think more or less its just a list of things that can(and/or should) be done, and reasons behind them.

I agree it is a great mod....maybe it should have been higher in retrospect

the smoothness effect comes from the fact that you have installed new plugs

Great mods Pirate.... have done some of that myself but I have a problem that I cant put my finger on at the moment. I cant get my car to start, got ignition lighs but engine will not turn. Do you think the key may need re-programming again? Any ideas would be greatly receive.
