So, who knows when the E92 M3 will be out?

Hello David,

The M3 has been delayed. The coupe maybe at the end of the year. Euro won't be for a while after that. I'll let you know as we get info.

I wouldn't say that it's been delayed, I think that late this year/early next is what a lot of people were expecting.

The rumors I've been reading in the print media for the past year or so have indicated US availability in 1Q 2008. More recent rumors have suggested that timeline might be accellerated and the car available here sooner. I have no idea why you think the car is being delayed

It is supposed to be out in Europe the end of the year, and the US early next summer. Nothing has changed from what I have heard.

Will know more at Frankfurt.

News about the M3 in the May 2007 Roundel, page 34...

I wonder why the mod edited the first post? I see names and phone numbers in here all the time. Mods don't seem to be consistent about what is acceptable. With the quote edited, now everyone thinks I'm the one who said the M3 introduction was delayed.

Gosh, my guess is that by the time I can get the one I actually want (a sedan M3 with a dual-clutch tranny) it will probably be 2011 !!!!

It is late relative to the introduction of previous M3 after 3 series body style change.

Not really.. M doesn't get the chassis until the regular cars are ready for production. 12 months after the coupe intro is about right for intro in Europe, and about 18 months for the US. It is right on schedule.

How can a car coming out in March '08 be an '08 model? It would be an '09 model. BMW is now releasing all their '08 models in the US this month, MAY/June. I also heard that dealerships were getting M3 models in June/July (just a few for a few select dealerships)... so who knows. I really don't think the M3 will come out in '08 since it would make it an '09 model. What ever.

Just attened a car show in Athens, Greece, where I talked with the BMW rep about the M3. Said it is scheduled for production in September and should be out in November. Caveat, however, it is europe, so not sure about the states. That beind said, those who are doing military sales and/or European Delivery maybe able to get thiers with the european time frame. My only beef with BMW right now is that they offer the M-sports package for the 335i in europe and we cant seem to get it in the states. makes me furious!!

E46 sedan came out around July 2000, the E46 M3 Coupe in Laguna Blue came out in March 2001.
E90 sedan came out around March, 2005, so the E92 M3 Coupe will come out when is on schedule?

At midday on 16 June 2006, BMW Plant Leipzig saw the 100,000th E90 BMW 3 Series roll off the assembly line since production launch on 1 March 2005.

The E46 sedan came out before July 2000 b/c it was a 99 model. IIRC it was out in 98.

u're right. I was thinking of the 330i. New model is introduced every 7 years, so E92 M3 should be March, 2008.

Pacific bmw salesman told me they will get the new M3 on Oct 27, expect beginning of Nov this year will be in the show room. They only got two, one is silver and one is (he called it dark blue). All this info was from his sales manager mouth. So, you guys expected other dealer will get the same quantity. one or two cars per dealer in the first wave of shipment. They will put the window sticker from 63000 to 69000 with full loaded. So, Nov 2007 is the official new m3 release month.

Check out the interior pics, it has the same button setup as the M5/6, Power, EDC, DSC they are the three buttons between seat the shifter. Which could mean just as the M5/6's you can ride around in less hp then hit the power button or M button and be at full capacity. Maybe they will do the same 100 increment and you will sit at 320hp until you press the button.

I have read up a lot on the new M3 never seen any reference to this maybe someone else has and can enlighten.

Wisdom have proven the 1st batch typically has the most troubles. I am happy for the 1st few peeps based on sheer excitement, but would rather be into year 2 of a new run.

However you guys best post your pics asap !!!!

The CAR magazine article stated the Power button only affected the throttle response, not the max HP. See the post about it....
