X5 and iDrive
I was told by the dealer that the new X5 can't be ordered without iDrive. Is this true?

iDrive would be on all cars but BMW wants the price point for entry models kept low. iDrive is not available on the Z's and X3. They are still using 1990's computers/dash technology. Why I have no idea.

That sucks. I wanted to order an X5 without iDrive.

have you ever used IDrive? dont believe all the bs, it is very easy to use and is a big improvement over all the buttons.

I do not know what others are saying, but I love to use iDrive. The best of BMW, of course including gear shifter, too.

Its just personal preference. I don't see the point of iDrive without Nav. (Doesn't work in Mexico)
I was also told by the dealer that traction/stability control cannot be completely disabled on the X5 like it can be on the E90 and all the previous models. Do they know what they are talking about? |
