has any one replace the DRL to AE on Canadian model ?? (we have the ugly yellow DRL up here, looks very weak)
if i want to do it
do i need the extra harness ? do i need to reprogram the ECU ?
or i need an extra switch for the AE and disable the halo DRL ? i know many of the E46s just unplug the DRL and turn the AE on with the extra switch here in Canada
but i believe if i do so i will have the annoying little yellow/red car on my iDrive display
does anyone have the information on this ? im greatly appericated
Thanks

You can get LED turn signals for the amber turn signals, and you can get our Predator Xenix for the high beams.

what i plan on doing is turning the DRL's off from the program settings and getting the AE bulb replacment. so when i drive all i have to do is turn the knob over to get just the AE's on.

Umnitza, can you elaborate more on these options? Pics would be fantastic! I already have your Predator ICE version 1 system so is there a big difference in the version 2 other than plug and play?

there are differences - the V1 is better suited for DRL functionality - but the PNP nature of the V2 is nicer for the E65 cars.

LED turn signals - the 7440 or 3157 (can't remember exactly which one for which year) are just plug and play - currently they are amber, but with LED, they just plug and play. NO pics available for this though

H7 Xenix for the high beam - here's kind of what it looks like:

i thoguht abt that too, but then we have to send the car to the dealer for programing right ?
guess this is the only way
but if we do so ~ acutally the V1 AE would probably be the better solution for this setup ?!

i talked to my SA and he said he could get a tech to do it.
why would the v1 AE be better?

from my understanding,
V2= OEM AE replacement, therefore the feature of the AE is still the same as stock halo AE
so for us Canadian models, not only we need to reprogram to disable the DRL, but also to program the AE to work as DRL, hence only the AE is on and everything else is off in daytime
V1 is more likely a seperate AE working with a different relay which can be turn on by a seperate switch

so im planning to disable the DRL and turn on the V1 AE with a seperate switch at all time

am i right or am i totally mistaken ?!

i would rather disable the drl's. get the v2, and instead of running switches it would be easier to turn the headlight knob once to get the ae's on. .
