Missing Voice Commands (phone & Nav)

I had an interesting problem today. In the morning, I could use the voice command system and was able to use: "dial name" then give the name, listen to the name repeated, then say dial. Everything worked fine with my cell phone. Later today, I get command unavailable but all other phone and address book functions along iwth the pop out dial pad are working fine.

Next one, when I say "navigation", it doesn't recognize the command although the book say it should.

Any ideas? Is this part of the Idrive woes?

Thanks,

Newbie with the 7 series.

I'm going to have it looked. At first I thought it was the key programing because I thought I was using the other key. Not the case, I loose the Nav and Tele voice commands every once and awhile. The address book plays back but every time I say Navigation or Dial Name, I get "function temporarily not available." These commands do show up on the display in the tach.

iDrive, what a great thing...

voice command reset

check the FAQ section..there is a fuse in the glove box door you remove to re-set the voice command system...happened to mine, removed fuse for a minute or so or what ever the FAQ said and voila...all fixed....good luck

here it is
Voice Command (SVS) doesn't work?

You can remove fuse 5 in located in the glove box for 2 minutes. This will reset SVS and telephone control modules and restores Voice Activation.

regards

bob
