e30, new carpet & retrofitted heated seats, pics ...
so,
followed Ferdinand's advice and cut a little off., thanks. there were oem pre-cut starters, perhaps it was a replacement carpet. some of the highlights include... - removing accelerator pedal bottom section from floor, push-in lower tabs, pull upwards and it will release. - removing accelerator stop peg, very easy, but a must do prior to carpet install. - also, retrofitted wire harness for heated seat, very easy too, just ran it alone existing window switch harness. Positive comes from power block to the left of steering column, unique connector to unique receptor, can't miss, to the left of RD/GR & WH/PL. negative mates with other grounds in same general area. no relays involved. - figuring out wire mesh for extra gauges, hahhaha, i don't label nuthings ![]() - and last but not least, a snaped soft top lid handle, it feel apart, hahahha., good times ![]() have a ton of pics, posting links to them and a few actual images of the mid morning ordeal, sorry but sun shined hard at times so there's glare towards he end. Passenger seat out... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3441-med.JPG Driver seat ... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3442-med.JPG Rear Seat, bottom only ... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3443-med.JPG Parking brake console ... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3444-med.JPG Shifter & extra gauges console... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3445-med.JPG Rear 1/4 panels ... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3447-med.JPG Removed carpet, steering wheel and retrofitted heated seat wire harness... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3464-med.JPG Installed new to me carpet, ran wires and steering wheel... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3474-med.JPG Rear seat bottom, 1/4 panels and fixed top lid release handle... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3478-med.JPG Center consoles and gauges as well as heated seat switchs... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3479-med.JPG Driver seat, rocker paneles etc... http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3480-med.JPG Passenger seat and it's all done ...http://www.bmwboard.com/gallery/data...4_3481-med.JPG now, here's the highlighted events -Dme no like old carpet new to me carpet, looks better in person, really , notice slice markers...Heated seat harness, power supply on top left, seat connectors at center and switches to the right location of power supply for heated seats, top row, empty plug. dash overlay
Thanks for the pics and the write up! Not to high jack the thread but I couldn't help but notice that you have a dash overlay. How is that in real life? I have a crack in my dash and don't want to go through the ordeal of replacing the wholde dash. Would you recommend it or are you thinking of a dash replacement at some point?
Your carpet replacement thread has inspired me to make that happen in my fixer upper. Thanks.

Nica job! Looks like carpet comes out pretty easy?
Pretty much my whole interior needs replacing, seats, carpet, dash and center console. Hope to do all in one weekend, after finding all parts. |

Well what most people do is cut it in places that are hidden bt things like the glove box and console to keep from removing the dash/heater box and more.

Hi guys, bring it back due to popular demand
People been asking me to update missing pics, so, took a few while parting a 91 325iC, enjoy. Power block for harness next to blue relay run harness like this ... back towards driver seat, and over in front of seat rails. across and under rear vents and up towards shifter up trans and near parking brake handle over trans and towards passanger side in front of seat rails... under passanger side rear vents ... carpet back on center console, etc... |
