Are you a 'cheap' BMW owner?

i will soon be picking up my 330ci in munich, i drive a civic si now, one day a thought occured to me as i was waiting in the drive-thru for a $0.99 burger with water and no fries as my dinner before my evening classes after work.. 'why is a (future) bmw owner eating 99 cent burgers?'

i'm pretty comfortable incomewise but i can be very cheap, and i just think people would consider it 'weird' that someone who drives a bimmer eats 99 cent burgers (with water and no fries).

so are you a 'cheap' bmw owner?

the amount of money I spend for food and beverage says nuthin about the car I drive. As long as they taste good that's OK with me.

Hell, I don't even have the time during the day to go to a restaurant and spend an hour or so eating, chatting or drinking.

If that were the test Patrick would be driving a Maybach

Matthew--Alex is right. And yes there are BMWs and MBs in Wal Mart parking lots.

Well, honestly, I don't spend money for beverages. I get them for free.

The question is in the future are you going to continue going through the drive-thru and eating hamburgers and fries in your new BMW?

whether the tap water is good (quality/drinkable) depends on where you are. what i find ridiculous is that some places (like some nightclubs) won't give you a glass of water and only sell bottled water for like $5 but only charge $2 for pop. needless to say i'll just settle for a glass of pop.

I think it's more a matter of personal life style. I pay more for my car than I pay for rent, and spend an average of $2 - $3 per normal meal (week day). At the same time, I can save close to 50% of my take home pay per month, and I can go play every weekend.

It's not cheap (even though many people think it is). It's my choice, and I am loving it when I see my equity account growing from my savings.

P.S. I regularly drive through my local wendys and have 2 of their 99 cent burgers for dinner

Way to save money for driving school eh? hehehe

As for me.... hmmm... I dunno... I guess I'm cheap, but have no problem paying more for good stuff.... (my car is an example I guess.... )

Too expensive ON campus. I go to the Village. A bit of a walk, but worth it. The food is cheaper and BETTER there. I usually go to Only-U Cafe for soup and sandwich.

You obviously don't have good taste in burgers. You should be going to In-n-Out where you wouldn't find such garbage!

thanks for the suggestion, but i already have reservations at the marriott both nights thru priceline. out of the 9 nights i will be in europe, i have reservations for 5 of the nights, i'll be trying to go 'local' instead of 'tourist' if i can help it..

I'll occasionally eat fast food crap, but I would never defile my bimmer by eating it in the car.

While at local shopping mall, a Rolls Royce pulls into a disabled parking space. The driver then proceeded into McDonalds and purchased an ice cream cone. He looked like a satisfied customer. BTW he was not accompanied by children.

As far as being cheap, not really. Practical is more like it.

Burgers are not "cheap" food here. I consider eating fast food to be a good idea when I am in need of a quick grease bomb.

And that doesn't always work here. Finnish McDonald's takes the fast out of fast food. If some of these restaurants were located in the US, they would be out of business.
