sheared nut
does anybody know how to get a nut of which is sheared round
ie;i am changing one of the front calipers and the nut thet holds it on has lost its shape due to rust and me trying to get a spanner on it also its the near side i am trying to turn it anti clockwise is this the right way

Nelson, It depend on size of nut.
First I would apply lots of WD40 and leave it a couple of hours. My usuall method would be to file two oposite sides of the nut, and once I have filed enoungh away use a vice grips. A couple of light taps of a hammer once you have applied the vice grips is usually enough to free it. Obviuosly the nut is a gonna and need replacing. |

put loads of wd on already got a lad bringing a small grinder round gonna try it

Be very carefull with that grinder. You need to remove the nut without damaging the thread that it goes on.
