2001 330i new key

Hello all! First time user, need help/suggestions PLEASE! Lost key to 2001 330i. Went to dealership with VIN and registration to have a new key made. Paid $180, got new key, successfully reprogrammed locks, however, the key will not start the car. It will not even crank. Any suggestions? Please help.

Welcome to Bimmerfest! I've moved your question to the E46 3 series forum. You'll get more help in here. I think the post above is on the right track.
