To buy a "new" E36 you would have to be trippin on something, perhaps like the original poster whom you quoted.

In my opinion people that buy cars new, either have too much money, or are stupid. There's no disadvantage of buying a used car that has been looked after very well and drives like a new car, the advantage is that you have saved a big haul of cash.

Even though you and I agree and it seems so obvious to us, there are a lot of stupid people with way too much cash.

F U C K you MRS for the smoking stains on the freaaaking rooof!, the cleanliness of the car (my dogs kenel was cleaner) and for not nowing how to park and scratching underneath the front bumper.

Some more from me...

F U K C you Mr Really bad BMW driver for selling the car with 4 illegal tyres, and getting loads of black smudge marks on the light grey cloth ceiling. How you did it, I do not know. Perhaps you wiped your arse there

You also knocked the front end and buckled the front left slightly so that the indicator no longer fits unless the pin clip is broken off because the bodywork is slightly warped! And yes, the indicator was glued to the headlights

yes B///W I was joking, obviously i would not want to buy a new E36, i meant thats pretty much impossible to buy one even if I tried.

funny but previous owners sold their cars probably because they had all those problems we list here and after we are tired of fixing, chances are we'll sell it on to the next poster in the similar named thread.

Er, yes, the E36 finished in 99, and since we are in 2007 it's not possible to obtain a new one without going back in time.

Hahah, yeah the next guys will get our trashed cars.

I still keep finding all these little features. Like that half parkers thingy.
I found the E36 time travel module behind the glove box (on a RHD), but I haven't got it running yet.

I retrofitted the E36 exhaust re-route system. It keeps the atmosphere fresher by pumping the exhaust gases into the cabin rather than the outside air.

Ok, my own now...
F U C K you to my car's previous owner;

who drove it into a pile of rocks, and leaving a huge scrape down the RHS of the under-door trim;
who parked on every kerbstop in the metropolitan area, scraping under the front all to hell;
for not replacing all the air-dam panels under said front when you drove over, I don't know, a tractor??
for letting "fluffy" the hairy white "shi t's you" dog ride in, apparently, everywhere from the boot to the glove box and under the seats;
for not cleaning or vacuuming my car when you handed it over;
for driving the left fog light into something, replacing it with a different one to the right, and installing it to aim out the passenger side at passing possums;
for breaking the gear knob (someone asked how to remove them? Easy: Lift.);
for replacing the battery and not writing down the radio codes;
for letting your rampant fraggle kid put a lego man inside the casette desk, which doesn't work;
for not recording any service history from 130,000 to 200,000 km;
for not knowing what a roadworthy cert is, when you're required to provide one by law;
for apparently consistently parking at the supermarket next to the trolley return;
for breaking the rear seat's mounting - I don't even want to THINK how you did that;
for losing the remote keys to the alarm system, and to the siren, so I have no idea whether either work and I can not buy replacements for them;
and lastly,
for handing over the car with < 4 litres of petrol in it, 10km from the nearest servo, may you be savaged by a rabid goat.

Edit: But I love my baby.

its amazing what people will spend time on and what they wont. Like putting 20" chrome wheels on a CRX but not making sure all the body panels are the same color.
