E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Wait on ordering the 335 until all the kinks are out (overheating, fuel pump), then go for the 335. Unless you want a smaller car. Then get the 135. Unless you want a larger car. Either way, 1st year models are always iffy. BMW usually irons out all the kinks by the 3rd year.

I'm willing to take my chances this time. I can't wait another 3 years.

1er won't be a "first year" car, because it's been on sale in Europe since '04.

Not the new coupe with the new biturbos. Hatchback w/ diesels have been around.

And the twin turbo 6 has been in the 335i for a year now (will have been 2 years once the 1er launches), enough for BMW to get a handle on the HPFP issues and whatnot.

Give the 335 engine until the my 2009 then the kinks will be worked out- read all those problems on the E90/92 forums and remember the S54 blowing up on people for the first couple of years. I can attest in my Z4MC they have fixed all those early problems!
