2000 M5--> Help

Here I am all set to go with my ED for a 535, and I've come across a low miles M5, sold locally by the original owner. I have to go look at it.

I will do the usual due diligence (check VIN, try to get maint. records from the dealer, have a BMW mechanic check it out, etc.).

It's a MY2000 (meaning, I would want to pay for angel eyes upgrade) with about 28k miles. He's asking $32k.

A 2000 is getting pretty old, so I have concerns there, but with only 26k original miles, perhaps it doesn't really matter.

Thoughts?

i'd be more concerned over a 26k mile 00 than a 76k mile 00, just because all of the stuff that usually gets replaced under warranty is still there. You will typically see mafs go bad, various suspension bushings, the occasional vanos, and dash pixels by the 50k mile mark. I'd imagine it will still happen, just on your dime rather than a warranty company.

Nothing in particular with an 00, i have one, daily driver, just about to hit 92k miles and i love it.

Thanks. I've decided to avoid tempation (I already have my ED tickets bought and paid for) and not look at the M5. It's a classic to be sure...and if I wanted a 3rd car for occasional driving, this would be the one for me. But I don't want it as a daily driver (heavy clutch, etc.)
