Upper strut nut tools

To tighten or loosen the upper strut nut you have to hold the inner shaft while turning the nut.
The BMW nut is 21 mm with the inner shaft being an internal 6 mm hex.
The Koni nut is 22 mm with the inner shaft being a 11 mm hex head.
Made up the following tools based on the tips from Neil Maller.

Hey Ron you should try rotating the front struts... you get like 3+ degrees of negative camber for free and you can go back whenever.

Today, I sold my stock upper mounts to a guy with a '95 M3 that wants to do that.

Ron, any technical issues with the torque wrench reading while using the crow foot? The torque wrench reading be off a little, no?

Finally, how much? I may need to get it just to adjust my top strut/shock nut to the right torque setting, instead of as tight as possible

Yes. See the following pics.
For my Sears Digitork 5>80 pound one the factor is .911.
For my Sears Digitork 25>150 pound one the factor is .925
Both of these are using the one inch crow foot.
So what ever you want at the crow foot, you set the wrench to .911 or .925 of the desired value depending what wrench you are using.
I used the 47 lb ft BMW value instead of the Koni recommended 59 lb ft.
47 x .911 = 42.8, 43 on the 5>80 wrench
47 x .925 = 43.5, 44 on the 25>150 wrench

Been changing tires and completing some modes this week. I was able to install the Rouge RSM's, brake pads and generally cleaning up the car.


I was at one time going to autox the car but never got to that due to lack of time.

I just removed the Dinan Camber plates from the front struts. Don't need them on the street. Anyone interested in the plates let me know.
