E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Hey!

I came up to your house this past winter to borrow Eric's cam blocks, i assume this is the car with the orange frame that was sitting at the back of the driveway? Its awesome to see it back together and out there drifting, the last picture is awesome.

Those are some sexy #s.

My car is doing well, the VANOS rebuild made the motor feel like it was new again. I also changed the wheels and tires, threw a set of ebay headers on it, changed out the suspension for H&R Sports and Koni yellows, overhauled the cooling system, got rid of the nasty worn out 4 spoke steering wheel and swapped out the old vaders for E46 M3 seats. It's serving its purpose as a DD pretty well right now, I'll go for more fun stuff after I can afford to buy another daily.

My first car purchased 2010

This is a pic of my car when I first bought it. Right now the paint is peeling so I have to find a cheap place who can do a decent paint job.

Be careful. As a rule cheap place does not usually equal decent paint job.

So close, yet still so far away

So far, I've overhauled the engine, rebuilt suspension, new cat, muffler, etc, changed door panels (and scrubbed the hell out of them), rebuilt and recovered driver's and back seats, and rebuilt and repaired the leather on the passenger seat; replaced top with another German soddendeck canvas top off another E30 (the original may as well have been used for a spaghetti strainer), replaced door handles, replaced plastic thingies around the door handles, instlled push-button ignition switch, took 3 years to restore shine and luster to the dash and console (who knew there was black under all that grime?!), painted the rims black (which I'm not crazy about, but the yahoo before me had painted the divets between the spokes black and it looked awful), mounted Pirelli tires, replaced seals and carpet in the trunk (it used to leak and hold rainwater - ugh) .... new radiator, replaced window buttons and wiring, new starter, new gear shift ... It still doesn't look like much now, but I remember vividly how it looked and ran when I first got it ... Oof. I wish I had photos from those days.

That looks pretty clean! Yes, please do something about those wheels. Go back to OEM silver, or get some upgrades, but get rid of the murdered out black. It kills the look of cleanliness.

Where are the headrests?

Thanks! The headrests are being recovered as I type. The wheels are on the list to just replace next year. I just wanted a quick fix for now. They looked even worse before due to the jackhole who painted the spokes.
