E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

This is what I drove, a 320i -90

Sadly a tree smashed in the front of the car, witch made it to spare parts.

So now I drive this, a 325i -88

So what do you think?

Well, uh, at the risk of appearing sacrilegious, I use this car for light work. I'm a carpenter, do remodeling and maintenance these days and my Chev van only gets 10 mpg so I use this for most of the small stuff:

That's my step van behind it at the storage yard. Check the antique fire "engine" next to it. In the second photo, those are some plastic sawhorses strapped to the top (hangs head in shame).

Just Bought. 1990 BMW 325i

I got this four door for a steal. It only has 78k km on it. It is originally from Japan so its euro style but left hand drive. Its very clean and was well maintained by some Japanese fellow. I want to put nice wheels on it to start. Any ideas as to what to do with this? Already ordered a timing belt replacement and waterpump for good measure but really it needs nothing. Inline 6 is very smooth. Not like the crap I saw idling on youtube.

I really like the 320i, especially the wheels on it. Too bad the tree won the fight.

They are absolute slugs though. Is this one manual?

Wont be origianally Japanese. They dont drive LHD cars there. you will probably find its ex germany, imported to Japan and then to you. Is the speedo in miles or KMs? theres another indication its german if its in miles, Japan uses Metric

Germany does not use MPH. At least they did not when our cars were built.

it only shows kilometers. Which is good because I live in Canada. No Airbags or cruise control. Can I install cruise control in this car? Is there an aftermarket brand that will work or will I have to use OEM?

No, not that van. That's a Grumman with a Chev 6.2 diesel. It gets about 12. I'd use it more but it costs over a $1,000 a year just for liability insurance. Can't bundle it with my normal cars. Commercial license. I use it now and then and buy temp insurance. Keeping it for any big relocations.

The Chev van that gets 10 mpg is one of those large, long vans with the tall, narrow windows and tricked out paint job - the G20 sport van.

Nice car. How does the left hand drive treat you? Canada uses the US style, right? That is, drive on right side of the road, SW on left. I almost bought a right hand drive Jaguar Mk 4 (or something) in the early 70s. Cherry rig, had been a British consular car in Singapore - had the distinctive Brit plates still. Came to my senses just in time.

Cruise control. Sigh. I've had my rig for 8 years and have tried off and on to get the CC working with no luck. Have used boneyard parts 3 times, once from a 155K unit - the little brain above the glove box and the servo under the hood. I was thinking about starting a thread about it. Either those parts die young or I'm missing something.

Might have saved me a ticket or two over the years.

bam! pardon the M car. I had to take pictures of both of the girls. They are like children. If you favor one more than the other, you have trouble.
