E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993. |

how to boost the power on a 2.7 eta engine?
like the title says, what can i do to boost the power?
I know a chip would help, but what mechanical things can i do? Iv heard that swapping an "i" head is good, but then i also heard that that is only for the 1988 year. finding coherent information on the internet is hard(unlike for my camaro). |

ok, i sspent a couple hours last night researching and so far this is what i know.
If i add a 325i head, cam pistons, intake manifold, and ecu, ill end up with a stroked "i" motor. Now the 323i swap,, im not to sure about now, what kind of power would that make? |

325i head would be quite alot more expensive than a 323i swap. I hav eno experience with the 325i head swap, but ive heard it is quite difficult to get done right. the 323i head swap however, is simply a matter of bolting the 323i head(731) casting to the eta bottom end, then accompanying that with a 323i intake manifold throttle body and an m30 AFM(with m20 internals), and running it all with a 325i DME. quite sure it is close to the 200hp mark
