Clock/wiring question

A bit of research in the archives provided no answers to a few questions:

The 2001 Z3 Roadster I bought a couple of months ago appears to be bone stock with minimal bells and whistles (no heated seats, no digital readout of mpg, temp, etc.).

Is the wiring harness the same or different on Z3 Roadsters of the same year, depending on factory-installed features?

Could my analog clock be exchanged for a digital model (that I have located on eBay)? Same connector? Would it display anything but time? I obviously don't have the end-of-stalk button that would change the display's readout.

There should be a plug for the digital cluster somewhere in there, but the question is, is it worth it. The cluster alone will cost you approx 300.00, then you MUST have it coded within 24 hrs of installation at a dealer at an additional cost. Not worth it in today's smartphone world.
