E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Are you sure motor is dead? Our passenger side window went dead, I pulled the switch on the transmission and separated the button from the switch. Sprayed it with old TV tuner spray, back together, up and running.
If not sure about motor, worth a try! Good luck!

That was a good test you pulled. I would start shopping a new motor cost for do it yourself then call dealer or better an independent shop for their price on window repair. Then its decision time, compare to see if worth your time.. I would say it could be gears but you should hear the motor whine. Sorry nothing more. Again good luck.
