How do you turn off the Air Bag light on e36 coupe

Hi Guys...
my Air Bag Light is On and I would really like to know how to turn it off.
I was advised by a mate that its a sensor under the passenger seat, if so how do I get to this, and do I need some specialist tool, and also is it something that I can do myself.

please please help.... as its really annoying seeing a warning light on your dash.

thank-you in advance....

Have you checked that the airbag is not faulty?

It doesn't mean the airbag is faulty. They light up for a variety of reasons that usually have nothing to do with an actual SRS fault. Unfortunately, unless you own the Peake Research reset tool, you'll have to take a trip to the dealer. It's a good dealership they won't charge you any money to reset the light, but that depends on them.

If the light is on then is is probably the seatbelt sensor but you cant reply on that

Get it checked first, as the airbag is there to save your life!!

What about pre-OBDII cars. How do you diagnose?

I'm not sure of the self-testing method, but if you have an indy you go to he should be able to let you know for free if you are a client.

The car does have OBDI which is another form of diagnostics, it is just not standardized like OBDII. I don't know if they have an SRS system reader for the OBDI cars or not, though. Sorry for the lack of helpfulness.
