Need help purchasing 1987 325is
Hi all, big newbie here. I've always wanted to pick up an E30 for some cheap thrills and have located a 1987 325is for a reasonable price near me. 225K miles, 5 speed coupe. What questions should I ask? Thanks.

ask for when the timing belt was done, timing belt on those car are priceless

if you remove the oil cap you can tell if they were replaced. the old ones were hex style.

Check for oil leaks, especially the head gasket, rear differential and "guibo" (seal which seals the engine to the transmission). As the e30 is high in torque, these seals tend to loosen over time.
