Use the correct board:

-7/8 board for 7 series up to 2001
-E65/66 board for 2002-2008
-F01 board for 2009+

I'm new to this forum and just picked up my 03' 745Li three days ago and have just been combing through all this great info. I'm finding new toys and tricks all the time!

I've already updated my software to v32 e.t.c. myself.

I COULDN'T BELIEVE the "Hold button 6 seconds, 3-click clockwise, 3 click counter, e.t.c." trick ACTUALLY worked!

there is a hidden change compartment in the front of the center console wall. the cd holder in the center pops out and adds extra space in there.

you can make the cd changer flap go up and down by pressing the eject button 2 times quickly in succession and the cd changer wont pop out.

the books to the car (case and all) fit nicely into the rear arm rest.

if you want all the sunshades to pop up just hold the front driver sunshade button for a 3 seconds and they all pop up or down.

if you hold both turn signal stalk buttons in for about 10 seconds, the gas and mpg meter disappear and make it nice and clean all black gauges.

in the trunk where the tools are, there is a place for the valet fob to be put underneath the wrenches.

if you enable DTC button in the Settings menu, you can do a burn out but you can't get the car sideways and it won't take away your power when you need to get going quickly.

Not sure if it's been posted b4 but when it's dark and you've just parked up with ignition off and about to get out the car ...

Pull the Full Beam Light Stalk towards you (as if going to flash your lights)......your Main Beam and Rear Lights will stay On for 30 secs allowing you to see where your going. (even after car is locked)

changed battery in 06 750li today. i used a good spare battery hooked to the jumpstart post under the hood so the car never lost power. worked perfect and no fault or error codes. never had to do a battery registration either.

If you press the panic butto on the remote, the lights will come on for 30 seconds to light up a walkway for you as well.

the key fob trick I thinks its an added feature I went the other day to test drive an 07 750Li with all the packages, i.e winter, luxury etc and the salesman told went I went to turn on the car that I didnt have to out it in the ignition slot it just has to be in the car, I loked at him strange at first but ive heard about other push start cars that do that, so he placed the key in the centerconsole I stepped on the brake pushed the start button and the car started right up pretty kool imo

No what you are talking about is part of the convienence package.

I had this happen to my 97, its a classic problem with this era 7, you have to replace the entire instrument cluster. dealer willl reset odo.

there is a company on line that refurbs instrument clusters, but you have to take it out and send it to them, so your car is down for a weeek or two

I really recommend you to do a battery registration after a battery swap. The reason is simple. The car adjusts its ways of charging the battery during the batteries life, and it will charge a old battery completely different than a new one. If you just swap battery w/o battery registration the car will continue to charge your new battery like it is an old one and that can harm the battery. In worst case even the generator.

Went to car last night and played around. This car is more then meets the eye!

Also I did the transmission reset and I could feel the difference right away.

yes you do! now do this again; once you see the diagnostic check pop up DO NOT RELEASE THE BUTTON !! hold it for another 5-7 seconds another Options menu pops up!! =)
