Resource - BMW secret moves

I am not sure if this was posted...

When I leave my car, I press in the the door handle to any door that is already locked and it locks all the doors and sets the alarm.

To shut off the mileage and gas indicators you only need to push and hold one button on the turn signal stalk (can't remember which) Pressing and holding the other button will run through all errors indicated by a yellow car icon on the NAV screen. It will not tell you about maintenance items required but will tell you about blown bulbs, low wiper fluid etc.

holding the top button for like 3 seconds does a diagnosis of the 7 and holding the bottom button for about 3 seconds clears the gauges.

Just hold the START/STOP button for few secs, the key will jump out. Be sure, the gear in P first!!!

Hi All,

Has anyone tried this on their 2006/2007 5/6/7 Series:

Insert the Key to into the key fob (DON’T HOLD THE BRAKE).
Press the Start Button ONCE, just so the car electronics start and show the Engine light is on. (Again, Don’t START the Engine).
Press and HOLD the GAS PEDAL all the way to the force down click on the gas pedal for 25 seconds.
After those 25 Seconds, proceed to Starting the Engine and drive your car.

Now, do you notice that the car responds better and shifts better, or is this just me????

I know, that in some Audi cars, you can reset the transmissions learning algorithm by doing this. Those with ZF tranny's.

Tried this, but looks like it's doesn't work to me, because my car too old? 2002 745i E65, around 165600KM

it shouldnt matter. it worked on my 02 and 03

i need a new foot then, hahahaha

or learn how to count again lol. but seriuolsy some ppl in the thread said it didnt work for them either

Sorry to hear about the lack of service loaners on your 7's, you could always come to Austin for a taste of REAL BMW service. We don't care where you buy it. We figure if we treat you right you'll get the next one from us.

I knew all of these tricks but the transmission reset, and it is truly AWESOME!!!!!!!!

Every time when you open any one of the doors from out-side or in-side, the internal light will turned on.

If you don't want them to light up every time when opening the door by just hold the button Number 1 for more than 3 secs.

If you don't want them to light up forever, pull out the bulb then,,,,

I never had a chance to drive a loaners from BMW while my car is servicing by them, that BMW didn't even give a TOYOTA, but free cup(s) of coffe or tea, well, with suger or milk.....
