Fuel Baffle Fixture for non-M E46s

Hi, I have this part that I want to install in the fuel tank. I don't know how it should look like. I just don't get the catch. I understand it's function but can't find a place in the tank to secure it.

I've read this thread:
http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66138

Unfortunately it's an old thread and the picture showing the baffle installation is no longer there.
If anybody has that pic, or similar pictures that would explain how it's to be installed please help.
Thanks

ooohhh... I need this too, I experience starvation autocrossing.

Mr. Paddle Shifter, can you give more details? What's the part number? Basic installation instructions?

Thanks!

Wow Kris, you're fast!!
I'm sitting in my garage now. I already took everything apart and have the part in my hands, I also have an extra gas tank sitting next to me. The thing is, those posts explain the easy part. None explain how the actual plastic baffle is installed in the tank. How it sits, what does it attach to. You can't just throw it in there..or can you?? That picture by Mr.PaddleShift that was removed would be helpful. I messaged him before this post but sitting in the garage looking at that gas tank wide open worries me. So I posted here

That's the 'Before pic' I.E. after you remove the right side fuel pump that's the bottom of your fuel tank. Nothing special here.
The pic where the baffle is installed is above it, only it doesn't appear. The URL it's pointing to is:

No answers so far. Has anybody here done this? This is the picture of the actual fuel pump and the baffle. The pump has this rectangular screen/filter. How would the baffle fit onto the pump?

Gosh! Can't believe after all these years, my diy is still sought after. lol!

Here's the updated link:

Let me know anyone has problems viewing it. Pretty simple installation. Make sure you have plenty of light (hmm...no fire touches please). Any questions let me know.

One thing I ought to let pple know that this baffle fix is dependent on your suspension setup and your driving style. I have come to realize over the years that as I upgrade my suspension and drive more aggressively, fuel starvation will still happen at 1/4 to 2/3 tank.

Thanks alot that pic was soooooo important!!
The feedback I got from ppl on various forums was that the baffle gets hooked to the pump so that the pump's pickup gets fed from the baffle's cup. Which seemed impossible when holding the two pieces as shown in the pics I posted.

Google revealed nothing (except for the missing pic that was hosted on comcast.net). BMW's TIS don't even mention it. And the diagrams on ETK don't explain the mystery that the baffle is hooked up to the other end of the 'Sucking Jet Pump (p/n: 16 14 2 282 208)'.

That pic makes it all make sense now. Finally I can close my fuel tank. THANKS ALOT!!!

I just installed this.... car still runs, so that's a good sign, right?

I'll actually try autocrossing with <1/4 tank in a few weeks .
