Exclamation rearend noises

i am still hearing the "thump" noise from my raerend after shifting into first. i kno from other threads that the problem is play in the rear but my question is how much should i worry about it. plus i just changed my fluid and it helped for a few days then it came back. thanks in advance.

I don't think its much to worry about. How severe and loud is it? Are you sure its from the rear and not from your flex disk or something?

could it be the rear bushings? I know that is what is causing the rear noises in my car, also the strut mounts aren't helping with noise either

that helped because it comfirmed that i do need new a (RSM) but the sound i hear when i shift intofirst is not the (RSM) because i am at a complete stop. so im still trying to figure out if i should worry about it? or if i can just let it go amd not worry about it for a little while.

If your driving at 30, 40 mph and you let off the throttle and let it coast then apply throttle again do you get the thump? If so (just guessing based on my last car) the CV joints may be worn. Jack up the car and put it in gear and release the E brake, now rock the wheel back and forth you may feel the play in the CV.

i just checked the cv joints and thay are fine. my auto shop teacher agrees that it is just play in the rear since my cars has alot of miles on it. he also said its nothing to worry about. thanks for the help guys.
