wow - BMW tech, you may want to adapt thet avatar, its much better than the paintwork i did for you. don't worry, my feelings won't be hurt. it'll be like going from the 02-05 e65 to the newer facelift.

As for Global...I picked my car up from service on Saturday with zero, I repeat zero gas in the tank. Range ----- miles. Not cool.

How about you?
I bought mine from Select Luxury. They were fantastic & gave me a great deal! They also sell Ferrari's & Lambs. I don't go to Global even though it's closer. I was about to buy a car from Global but , I had an idiot for a salesman( i kept catching him in lie after lie) They offered me a great deal but, when I took the car for a final test drive before taking delivery, CLUNK!!!! THE TRANNY SLAMMED AS I PULLED FROM A STOPLIGHT! The idiot salesman tried for 20min to get me to take the car & bring it back the next week for service. Plus I've had bad experiences w/ their service dept. Actually I've heard it's supposed to be better since they fired some of the managers. I deal w/ United even though it's out of the way. Great customer service & I get X5's or &'s for loaners!

Hi. Im new here. It's a pleasure to spread the knowledge to all of you. As I have said before, the more you know the easier it is to address the concerns you have with your vehicle. It eliminates the bitterness all of you had felt at one time or another towards your local dealership. It promotes good relationship between owners and dealerships because you are taken seriously. You are taken seriously because of your knowledge and dealerships can't fool anyone who knows as much as they do and often times much more than they think. I just wished y'all were close by, Id hold a "clinic" at the dealership on weekends. We'll fire up the grille and throw some meat and barbecue while sunny_j works out a formula/mathematical equation so that he can watch Scarface over and over while cruisin'. It would be great to see a "fleet" of E65/66 cruisin on the freeway on a lovely California day. One thing is for sure, you all would be asking for a new transmission. That my friends is out of my reach. If it was up to me Id be doing "motor swaps" for you guys. Id take it back to the old school but Alpina style. Alpina M62TU installed on later Z8's and "modify" the ZF transmission in the previous E38. But Im afraid I got nothing for the MOST bus. Thanks again folks !! For a bunch of men who act like women (gossip/bitch and moan/too hot/too cold/my tummy hurts/my car squeaks and rattles/etc... ) and children (bickering/taunting/teasing) MOST of the time, YOU GUYS ARE ALL RIGHT !!!

Thumbs up

I've watched the forum for some time; made a couple of posts last week.
I got my 750Li in May 2006. Currently have just under 19000 miles. I live in South Korea, but the car is US specs. Some observations:

Fit and finish: superb
Handling: superb, car goes where you put it at any speed; no overt understeer or oversteer.
Acceleration: Excellent for a car this heavy; couldn't see paying the premium for a V12; don't regret it.
Braking: superb; hate the brake dust of course.
Bluetooth pairing: no problem pairing the phone once I had the car's Bluetooth key. I had to have a dealer download it from the car (earlier post). My address book won't display even though the car says it's downloaded. The native language of the phone (Samsung SCH-V740) is Korean. The English display on the phone is an option. Rarely do I need to make a call while driving, however, and receiving calls works perfectly.
Problems: occasional hard downshift, of course. Twice the engine lite didn't go out when the car was started; stopped, restarted the engine and everything was fine. Driver's door handle slow to unlock. Deep shutdown of computer disabling comfort access (response to another post) lasting for about 10 days.
Other pet peeve: CDC won't remember RND selection for more than a few minutes on shutdown. At least with the software upgraded to v28.1.1, the RND selection is now highlighted on start instead of CDC.

All in all, I have no regrets buying the car. It's the finest vehicle I've driven in over 45 years.
