don't take it personally thinkngrow, i'm not bashing you personally. i'm flaming bmw cause in my opinion that partcular wheel style (on your car) was one of the worst designs ever. also, i have no problem undermining bmw, they make some of the most unreliable cars out there. i know your rims are 19" but for some reason they look puny when on the 7ser. i do admit they do look bigger on the white than black though but still look like ass. if you like em', thats all that matters. by the way the below volvo rims look much more like my rims (almost identical actually).

Mein Auto: 2006 750i
I introduced myself after having my rear license plate stolen, and here is a little more about me and my 2006 750i I bought (CPO) about 9 months ago.

My name is Dean, and I had never owned a 'premium' car before. What convinced me to take the plunge was when I learned about air conditioned seats. Yup, I literally bought a high dollar car (for my budget, anyway) for the air conditioned seats!! I started out wanting an Audi A8, and would have bought, had it not been for the horrible reliability. The next choice was the 750i with CPO warranty. I know the 7 isn't perfect, but I now know someone who owns an A8, and know of several others with them, and those cars are in the shop more than they're on the road. Overall, I am happy with my choice.

As I shopped, my car HAD to have the a/c seats, first and foremost. And once I saw the contrasting cream and black interior, I was sold on the uniqueness. I wouldn't even consider the car unless it had that interior. I am not a fan of wood, so the car had to have the darkest interior wood, so that it wouldn't stand out as much. And finally, I really loved the chrome 19" sport wheels, so I wanted my car to have them (even though I realized a wheel swap would be fairly easy if I found everything else I wanted in a car). My search resulted in this Alpine White 750i:

I live in a fairly small suburb, east of San Diego, where you see the same people (and their cars) on a regular basis. 7-Series BMWs were not very common, but as the economy tanked over the summer, the younger generation (myself included) started buying these cars, and there are now several cruising around the area. Most are the 2002-2005 body style, and the vast majority are black; nearly all of them have custom 22" wheels. There are only two other white 7-Series I see around the area: a 745Li and a 750Li. Both of those white ones have the chrome 19" sport wheels... As much as I love those wheels, I didn't want my car to blend in with the others, so after searching high and low for the perfect car with the sport rims, I decided to take them off and get some custom wheels. I drive this car a lot, and didn't want the concerns that go along with 22" wheels and low-pro tires, so 20"s were as big as I was willing to go, and I didn't want to go with a big-lip wheel, especially in that size. I went with 20" Dropstars DS-05 wheels, which are not available as staggered (sigh). I like the look of these, with the reverse, inside chrome lip, but I do still love the 19"s, which I am keeping. Thats the beauty of wheels...they can be swapped out on a whim.

Recent pictures (with the license plates gone! ):

Thanks for looking, and reading my lengthy bio!

Dean

New to the forum....7 series on the way!

Hi Gang,

I'm new to the forum (duh) but not new to BMW's; I've owned 4 in my lifetime including an '87 M5 that I adored. My last was a '95 740iL so it's been some years. Anyway, I decided it was high time to get back in the fold, so I'm shopping the auctions for an '07 750Li lease return. I need to get in gear because the lease on my '07 Yukon Denali (ick) runs out on 4/2!

Let this post be my placeholder for when I have pics of the yet-to-be mine 'Li beauty. I'll be back to post as soon as have that key-fob-thingy in my hand!

Oh, and this site is awesome. You guys have already taught me tons about the newer 7's. Doesn't hurt that I downloaded & read the owner's manual cover to cover .

Cheers,

/TCP

looks nice, doesn't really make it any easier, anyone got pics of a E65 with alpina 20"s? not 21s
there is a set up for sale locally of an E38, so i figured just fit new 245 40 20 and 275 35 20 and ride in comfort and style, thinking about a custom paint as well, with a pinstripe or something.

This is what I noticed while flipping through the pages on this thread. The closer you get to Pg 39, the uglier the aftermarket rims are becoming.
