This is my 7. Traded up from the e60 around July of this year. Currently wheel shopping and torn between styles. Love the 128s especially since they're 21s. Not going 22 because of the city driving I do. Any suggestions for my color scheme?

Here is my MY02 745i, which goes by the name of Bismarck.

Bismarck and I roam the streets of Stockholm, Sweden.

Has run about 92k miles, and so far I have found three small chips in the paint, that's it. Everything works, except the stupid TPMS and the radio. The radio will be fixed by the dealer as soon as they can fit me onto their service schedule.

Anyway, just thought I'd contribute.

Wow! Sorry to hear that but at least you walked away. What happened? It don't seem like you sustain a lot of damage.

was driving behind a commercial box truck so i couldnt see what was going on in front of him and he suddenly stopped and i rear ended him

Hi Everyone,

I am new to Bimmerfest and would like to introduce myself and my 2004 BMW 2045LI. We are up in the Seattle area and have driven in snow, rain and long rides. I bought her used in 2008 with 36K miles and have just over 101K today. She runs great, but am now off of warranty and have come to the Bimmerfest forum occasionally for answers to questions.

I have been cursed with tires and chrome wheels and today have just put on some brand new Continental Extreme Contact DWS tires. Notice that I have 645 wheels on now vs my old 5 spoke. These are my first new tires and no more used for me.

Question: Does anyone top off oil @ every 1000 miles? I have no leaks in the garage, so must be burning. The dealer says that this is normal, but I never had this before.

How much oil are adding every 1k? I change my oil every 5k and haven't yet had the need to add . Depending on the amount , lets say a quart every 1k I'd say something is up yes .

I have another question about my 2003 BMW 745LI, I recently got my mechatronics sleeve replaced along with the pan, bottom gasket and filter. I bought three quarts of tranny oil from BMW my self and brought it to the mechanic. I got a transmission fail safe mode error and noticed there was a leak this is what triggered the transmission service. The car had the transmission fail safe error however was shifting fine before the service.



I want to emphasize that before the car went into the shop it would shift a little hard into first every once and a while. All other gears shifted smooth and perfectly. I picked the car up yesterday from the transmission service and I noticed a distinct difference immediately. The car is shifting hard into every gear, as if it was a manual transmission. I have noticed that the RPM are also fluttering when coasting. It shift really hard coming to a stop from 4th to 3rd and 3rd to second. If stopping abruptly it slams into first gear from 3rd, it feels like as if I was getting rear ended. Right before I got home coming out of a complete stop it reved up and then slammed into first gear. I don't understand how the car drove for the most part perfectly before the service and now so terrible after the service. Please help

You should really make this a separate new thread instead of posting in here where it will get lost and probably never answered.

Have you contacted the shop where you got your trans serviced? That should probably be your first step.

I am new to this, so I didnt really know where to post it. They really don't seem confindent about working on the car. I brought it to a shop that specializes in BMW. They had the software updates for the Tranny. I just had it towed over there, I didn't want to create any damage driving the car if it is low fluid. I am worried what news I am going to get on this car I have already invested or (spent) 8k in the last three months on this car/
