Unhappy M5 Touring into US?

I love my 2007 530xiT but after spying a M5 Touring in Turin a few weeks ago I am sick that they are not available here. There must be a way, it's just at what price. Help!

Are you actually serious? I find it hard to believe that BMW made an M station wagon...

Well, anything is possible with a large enough amount of money

The whole ///M-Wagon-but-not-in-the-US thing has been discussed before greatly and the general consensus is that there just aren't enough people that think like you (and me) to make it a viable seller here...

Don't shake your head, it only projects you as a poseur, a status seeker, or worse. They've been doing it in Europe for a while now. There is, IIRC, about a 15 year history of ///M5 Touring, possibly more.

Seriously, what's so wrong about an a$$-kicking wagon? Personally, I would LOVE an ///M3 wagon. If they brought them to the US, I would be at the dealer the day they announced it, ordering my own.

Read on....

Gratuitous shot of my old wagon on track

A$$ Kickin Wagon

I follow you on there being no market here, I'm not trying to convert anyone, I want to figure out how to spirit one over the pond. I searched auto importing and it seems that you need three things 1. Tag in the jamb saying it meets US safety standards, 2. Tag in the jamb saying it meets US emission standards and 3. A licensed importer to get it here. I suppose I should just contact an importer and see what they have to say. Thanks for posting the pix. Below is the one I spotted on via Garibaldi in Turin. What a shock, I had no idea they made M5 Touring.

Weaaaan I want one.

I think the M5 Touring will be coming to the States in '08 or '09. I know I read that somewhere...not sure how reliable it is.
