Unhappy My Dinan S/C q's answered

I called Dinan yesterday to ask the *real* skinny on supercharging a CPO car. My car is a 2000 540i6 with 29K miles on it. It is CPO as are all CPO's for 6 years, 100K miles from it's in service date- 09/2000. At this rate, it looks like I'll hit 6 years before mileage.

Here's what they said were I to S/C my car today:

Dinan will cover the remainder of the BMW new car 4yr/50K mile warranty. If my engine or tranny blows in the next 18months or 20K miles, Dinan would pay for the new one, including labor.

After the BMW warranty is up, Dinan covers only the SC for another two years/unlimited miles.

BMW does not cover the drivetrain of S/C'ed cars under ANY warranty, CPO or not.

According to the Dinan rep, my CPO would still be good on things that would be covered, but NOT, specifically NOT on the engine and tranny.

I asked about the Dinan CPO stuff I'd read about in Roundel and was told that it applies to all Dinan parts on BMW's except the S/C . So, if a dealer buys a car with Dinan parts on it, it can be certified and sold with the BMW CPO warranty- as long as those parts dont include an SC.

So there you have it. My best impressions from my discussions with a Dinan Rep on S/C'ing a CPO 540.
