X5 current discounts on 2007 and 2008 models

I am in the market and looking for a 2007 or 2008 X5 3.0 or 4.8 what kinds of discounts are dealers giving in various states for a purchase not lease. I just want to have some kind of idea what to expect off MSRP when shopping around from others on this forum.

Not much in terms of discounts right now, for either '07 or '08, because there is a healthy demand for them. I'm saying anywhere $1000-2000 over invoice price. A friend of mine, thru a referral, got $1,900 over invoice on a ordered '08 X5 4.8i sport.

$1,000-$2,000 over invoice is not much of a discount? That's a huge discount!

Well, I'm just used to dealing with $500-1200 over invoice for 3-series and X3s. I realized that there's a far bigger profit margin on the big guns like a $60k X5 4.8i.

My sales rep said the $1900 over invoice deal was only because I had given the referral. Otherwise, she was like "we don't give much on the X5s." However, I was glad she pushed their order thru the factory quickly, with a mere 2-week order-to-delivery turnaround time.

I just ordered an 08 X5 for $1,000 over invoice.

Just shop around, there are plenty of dealers that are willing to do what it takes to earn your business.

I wasn't saying that $2,000 or better over invoice cannot be done. As far as I know, the norm is closer to $4,000 (assuming you have $15,000+ of options).

There are a number of websites that have that info. One of the first with complete invoice pricing for the 2008 X5 was Cars.com

Definitely deals to be had it seems. I was just at BMW North Scottsdale and they still have at least 12 2007's on the lot, mostly the 4.8's. I saw lease offers on the windows under $700 per month which seems pretty good to me....and that's without negotiating.

BMW NS has a great inventory but 39 units but not a one with the cold weather package. What gives?

Well, I just signed the paperwork on my 08 order yesterday (it arrived on Monday but cant pickup until this Thursday). Here is a breakdown of my order...

MSRP 70300
Invoice 64800

Selling 65300
Tax 2100

OTD 67400

MSD'S 7000
Title, Tags 1500

MF .00211
36 months/12000 miles

$949.00 monthly

Gives you an idea of what is out there to negotiate on....

Is it easier to get a deal like the above (less than $1k over invoice) on leases or purchases? Never leased before.

Thru the internet feelers, one dealer was able to give me $2k over invoice (-$3280 from MSRP) on a 3.0si purchase. I thought that was a lot already.. I can't imagine them giving me $5k off like above.

I don't know that a lease versus purchase question would make a difference. I knew what I wanted when I went to my dealer. It helped that I already had an offer for $750 over from another dealer. When I told them I would order from them if they could do $500 they mulled it over then accepted the offer.

I also got the buy rate minus MSD's so, that helped too. I am fighting over floormats (I think that they should be included on any $70000 vehicle), but I am not going to push the issue.

There is $ from BMW on the 07 models now (i think $3500 on a 4.8) and olp on the 08's giving a .001 reduction on the money factor.

Are you sure there is OLP on the 2008 X5's now? I just talked with the finance guy yesterday and he told me there wasn't. If that is the case, I am PISSED. Because that would have taken my rate from .00270 to .00170 before the MSD's.

Any verification....?

Okay, that is very worrisome to me. I specifically asked if there was OLP and was told no. Now I have two different people tell me there was, in fact, OLP available. So, I am going to call them tomorrow. If it is available after all, I am going to insist that I get the OLP since I very clearly asked. The other fact is that my wife hasn't signed her end of the paperwork yet, so the contract is still open....

Further verification would be appreciated....

Thanks for the tip. I just called and was quickley given this quote over the phone for a '07 4.8 w/MSRP of $61,840: 36 mo lease for $3k drive off with a $738. including tax monthly payment. SA said this was with $5k off MSRP and OLP money factor. I was in my car and couldn't continue the conversation so I have a call into the SA to get the rest of the story like mileage, residual etc. This sounds pretty good to me but I really didn't want a 4.8

The December OLP for the 2008 X5 is true. I just ordered mine this past Thursday night and I received the OLP MF reduction of .001 for a net MF of .0017.

Are we allowed to post which dealers are giving these deals? It would be nice to reward them with some more business!

That's usually frowned upon (as only sponsors are allowed to advertise on this board).

I think you will find that most dealers out there are very interested in moving their 07 inventory (since the 08's are here) and there are many deals to be had.

However, if you are looking for an 08, I would highly recommend reaching out to one of our sponsors. Not only will you get a great and easy deal, but you will also support this board by giving them your business.

Just a thought...

OLP is owner loyalty program and only applies to 08 money factor reduction as I understand it, not for the 07 leases.

MSD is multiple security deposits which lowers your MF depending on how many you use. Do a search for more info.

I am interested in your deal because I was not able to get that low a MF and couldn't get them to budge off of $48+. My lease was for three years but I like two years better. Would you please pm me with details including more specifics on the X and location if you don't mind.

Thanks
