Available X6 summary from U-tube

Here's what I gather from the clips available on U-tube:
1) The car is bigger than it looks in pictures (apparently big full stop!)
2) UK clip seems to think ca 50kGBP starting with two V8 and one V10 option - no mention of diesel. (the UK BMWs in that price range are basic models of 6 series - 6 cyl or X5 V8s)*.
3) On concept car the exhausts are hidden by a rear "dune skid-plate" which can retract (for higher performance? - probably not a very sturdy skid plate in that case or very pricey)
4) BMW describe it as a real sports car with offroad DNA (not their words but my summary of them) - a crossover between sport and off-road.
5) UK clip assumes 2009 availability in UK.



So building on 2)* depending on BMWs thinking for the US market, this could translate to a price range between that of the X5 V8 (ca. 50k$) and at the most 6 Coupe (Ca.70k$). If they adopt the Range Rover vs RR Sport thinking, this car would be cheaper than an equivalent X5. But given the design of this thing I think that is unlikely. My guess: not far off the X5 with the same engine but probably with an expensive top of the range version.

If they are serious about this car and their safety ethics.. 4 point harnesses should be offered for those in desert countries/areas that won't be able to resist the urge... just don;t drag the family along in the back!
