Oil consumption issues ?!?!?!
Anyone been having any oil consumption issues with their 3.0i X5. I'm not surem but I think i may have this problem.............. either that or they didn't fill her up on the last oil change.

How many miles are on it?
This is my second 3.0 engine (I also had a 330i). The 330i burned oil at the rate of .5 quarts a month (that is 1/2 a quart for every 1,000 miles). My X5 has 2500 miles on it, and has never drank a drop. Every motor is different. As they get broken-in (most BMW engines are considered "green" until they hit 10,000 miles) they will burn less and less.

It has around 12,000 km on it. I think that's around 7500 miles ?!?!??!? In the beginning, never consumed anything. Then had an oil change and recently checked and it was down half after almost 3000 km (1875 miles).

Yeesh, stop worrying.
 I've put four or five quarts into my xiT. (31K miles and four oil changes.)
