I agree with all the positive posts above. Irv is Awesome. I've done 2 ED's with Irv, a 2007 328xi and a 2008 328xi and he was honest and helpful through the entire process and gave me a good deal. He made the trip of a lifetime possible and stress free. I've recommended friends, family and coworkers to him and he has earned my future business.

I have nothing but good things to say about my ED purchase from Irv. Irv and his assistants have made the whole experience quite enjoyable- very simple and stress free. Irv also provided some excellent advice for our first ED trip and always was prompt answering questions by phone or e-mail. Hopefully I will be picking my car up at Motorwerks just before Thanksgiving-- the wait is brutal!!

My car arrived on Friday. He met us on Sunday, so I could get my car (live 330 miles from Barrington). And the car was warming up when we got there.
The whole buying a car experience through ED from Irv was stress free and very pleasant. Defenitely will recommend him to others. |

Good CA for ED
Adrian in Atlanta is super. Don't forget to do a PCD after ED. Adrian is a fest sponsor as well.

I can't even begin to count how many BMWs I've ordered through her but probably 40-50 Festers minimum purchased from her in the past year or so. Feel free to post any more specific questions here.

As my existing lease came to a close, my accountant informed me about his European Delivery. As I began researching, MotorWerks was the first website to really catch my attention. The countless descriptions of what a wonderful experience this was seemed too good to be true.
Fast forward to the present day: All of the things that were described on the European Delivery website were absolutely true. Purchasing the car from Irv and MotorWerks was such a breeze that we were able to focus on planning and enjoying the traveling and activities associated with ED. The only difficulty was enduring the wait until our departure and awaiting our car to be delivered to the States. Our trip starts in Miami, where my wife and I depart for Munich. We landed in the afternoon, after an uneventful flight, took a cab to the Hotel Uhland, a great location at a reasonable price, even recommended by European travel author Rick Steves. That evening we walked to the Marienplatz and had dinner at the Hoffbrau Haus. We called it an early evening, as we were to pick up our car the following day. The next day, after breakfast, we took the train to the Olympic Park station and enjoyed the five minute stroll to the BMW Welt. Wow! What an incredible building! It was like entering this ultra-modern future world of sculpted metal, glass and stone. People wandered the spaces, gazing and interacting with BMWs of all sizes and colors. A glass elevator tales us up to the Delivery Lounge, where we were not only greeted, but expected. We signed our documents, took part in some refreshments and wandered around, until we met up with Bernard, our delivery specialist. He took us to a sleek presentation room and familiarized us with the BMW design process and philosophies, specifically about our car the 335i Cabriolet. We were impressed by the simulator where we could better familiarize ourselves with the iDrive. I felt like James Bond being briefed by Q, about a state-of-the-art, super car with amazingly cool accessories. Just as we began excitedly wondering, "When can we actually see and touch our car?", Bernard had us proceed to the mezzanine, which showcased about eight cars, each one on a rotating platform, while the patrons of Welt gazed out beyond, wishing that they could be the one sitting in their own BMW, very much "On Stage" while pictures are taken and hands are shaken. We started the engine, put the car in gear and drove down the ramp through the Welt, signaling the control room to disengage the immense shiny metal doors at the end. The doors opened, allowing us to depart the Motherland of Bimmer World. Just imagine going to a very modern art museum, and leaving with one of its most celebrated works of art. That is how one feels when driving a new BMW out of the Welt. The iDrive features and Navigation System came though and got us back to the Hotel Uhland without any trouble. Exhausted, we walked to the nearest Beer Garden and relaxed. The next day we nervously drove out of Munich to our destination: The Dolo-mites, specifically Rosa Alpina, a resort in the small Italian village of San Cassiano. The drive was a lot of fun and the car performed flawlessly, whether on the Autobahn or winding though the mountains. After a few days of great wine and spectacular food, we headed over to Mittenwald, where we stayed at the Hotel Post. Anxious to get the car on its way to the United States, we decided to deliver the car back in Munich, and incredibly easy process that included signing the documentation and conducting a final inspection, all in about twenty minutes. We were then off to the airport to catch a flight to Paris for a week meeting with friends before we returned to Miami. Six weeks later, we flew to Spartanburg, South Carolina to reunite with our baby Bimmer. BMW treated us to a night at the Greenville Marriott that included a wonderful breakfast and dinner. The next morning we were chauffeured in a new X5 to the BMW Performance Center, where we met Donnie Isley, a Formula 1 race car driver. After a brief class on the 50/50 Weight Ratio, ABS brakes, speed and other stuff, we were each issued our own car: the instructor in an X3, my wife in an X6 and the rest of us in 335is. The first experience: from a stand-still position we floored it, getting up to 55 mph and upon reaching the predetermined speed slammed on the brakes and tried to maneuver around objects on the road. The car never skidded sideways across the wet pavement, always in control. The second part of the driving course involved driving as fast as you could through a slalom course, with the instructor always in radio contact, yelling "Brake, Brake!", "Gas it!", or "You're turning too late!" Twice around the course, my adrenaline engaged, we got to switch cars. These cars are simply amazing, and so much fun to drive. Next we moved on to the skid pad, a polished donut of wet concrete, to experience how the "traction control" works. Some people may need Dramamine for this: One starts with the "traction control" in the off position, you accelerate to about 20 mph, let off of the accelerator, then you floor it. Your car spins out of control, doing multiple 360s. Eventually you engage the Traction Control, repeat the same exercise and, like magic; the car stays in line, completely in control. After lunch with the instructor and a review of our new car, Donnie gave us a "hot lap" in an M5. To get an idea of what this is like, check out the YouTube video filmed by others: Everyone should experience this driving adventure. From the BMW Welt, the museum, driving on wonderful roads in Europe, and truly understanding what driving a BMW is all about***********: the pure joy of driving a car that makes you feel as if you're in complete control. I wanted to add to the positive comments about Irv, as I benefited from others feedback to choose him for my CA. I did it all through Irv: ED and PCD and now I have my 335i home at last. Between Irv and Bimmerfest, I was able to order the car of my dreams, for a great price and for an even better experience (ED and PCD are both quite different, but both are incredible, not to be missed adventures). Irv made the process not only pleasant but seamless. This is no small feat considering all of the details involved for a BMW order, ED and a PCD and considering Irv is in Chicago and I live in Florida. I was naturally suspicious of all the praise that Irv had on this site, but I'm a believer now. He kept in contact with e-mail, phone and FedEx. Everything was done for me including FedExing the Florida plates to me from Chicago! He really earned my business and I will continue to use him in the future.

I worked with Irv, and he went beyond any other CA that I have used. It was a long distance sale, and he made it effortless.

I am completely new to ED, and Irv was the first person I contacted. He responded to emails faster than I could type them, spent over 30 minutes on the phone explaining everything to me, and even when I told him I wouldn't be able to do business with him because of the distance, was willing to answer my questions. The man is a legend when it comes to ED, and not enough good things can be said about him. Keep it up Irv! We need more people like you in the business!

This is such a long thread, but if you read it all you will see I posted about one year ago. I am through with the entire process and am even more of a raving fan than before. Re-delivery in Chicago (Barrington) worked for me, even though I live in Texas. Irv was fantastic, along with his supporting staff. I am hopeful to do this again, and certainly, through Irv Robinson. Even many months after re-delivery, Irv is contacting me to make sure everything is still going well with my car. If you are going the ED route, you cannot go wrong with Irv.

FYI - I spend a long weekend in Chicago when picking up the car (a little thank you present to my wife). We got a great deal with the fabulous Drake Hotel in Downtown Chicago on Hotwire. For $99/night - we didn't want to go home!

I purchased my first BMW and decided to also do ED last year. I went to my local dealer (who was only 2 minutes from me) and was told that for the price I was asking for, I would show up in Munich to no car. I found Irv and stayed in contact with him and Angela constantly. There were no hassles or issues about the price I was asking for. The local dealer here also said that I couldn't do PCD for a 3-series - he was wrong. Irv/Angela said 'No Problem' - esp since I live in Virginia. I was very happy that I decided to go with Irv and his team. All I had to do was plan my trip and think about the moment I would get my car. They also have kept in touch with me after delivery, which is a nice bonus for me. They could've easily wrote me off as another sale and moved on to the next person.

European Delivery
So....another very happy customer from Irv!
I just got back from my trip with my wife and this was an experience of a lifetime. From arriving in Munich, touring the facilities, and receiving your car for the first time was incredible! We saw multiple cities in 5 countries and did it at our own pace. The car drove like a dream and we hit speeds that would've put us in the clink in a heartbeat here back home. It's such a tease because now I have to wait 5 or 6 more weeks for the car to get back to me, but believe me it's worth it. As far as Irv goes...he couldn't have been any better to work with. From the beginning until now he's responded to every call and email. I had so many questions and he never avoided me, even now with the car being God knows where, he's been there for me. His knowledge of the whole process is impeccable and I'm definetly going to be a repeat customer in the future. I have a friend who was interested in ED but waited until I got back to see how things went, I've allready given him Irv's info. Whoever is interested in an ED, look no further, this is your guy! Sorry for no picture, I would've had one if my wife didn't drop the camera in a canal in Amsterdam....but the car and the experience made up for it! |

I have to chime in here and add my 2 cents. Irv is absolutely top notch. I am the type of person who is a very loyal customer and reward those in any sales position with repeat business and recommendations when I'm treated well. Our entire experience with our May 2008 ED through our July Performance Center Delivery was spectacular.
But the best part is how accessible Irv is, and his continued support even after the check has cleared the bank. I was initially impressed that he not only promptly returns calls and emails, but also how personable he is. He talks to you in straight, honest, and easy to understand terms, walking the inexperienced ED customer through every step of the way. I unfortunately ended up having a problem with my car in the form of a paint defect that was resolved by BMW with a replacement car. Irv was always right there to answer my questions and give me support, even though I am a thousand miles away. It is that kind of customer service that makes all the difference in the world. I'm sure there will be more ED's in my future, and Irv will be my CA as long as he endeavors to be in the business. Thanks again, Irv... Here is my intial delivery at Welt and our re-delivery in South Carolina: Last edited by 767jetz; 02-13-2009 at 10:19 PM. |
