Just a follow-up. I tried to reinitialize the DICE unit as per your instructions in Post #203, now it doesn't even show up as a CDC. I think I killed it.

I am also getting the annoying "pop" sound (interference) even when my radio is playing. I have NAV so the radio interface is out. What are my options? I really don't want to send it back, since I paid to get it installed.

I recently installed a Dice Silverline Ipod integration unit in my E46 325i 2002 car. I have an issue with the sound that i am not able to solve and i don't know what else try. The fact is that some kind of static noise is listened during reproduction, it sounds like an FM interference and it is really annoying while playing classic or vocal music. It is independent from engine since it does the same no matter engine is on or off. I have also revised the connections several times without success. For the installation i followed your instructions, i cabled from trunk (cd changer port) to right hand glove where i have put the Dice box to have easy access.

Recheck your connections to make sure everything is tight/secure.

After several testing, i am pretty sure that the noise i listen is the k-bus line. Does it have any solution?

That would confirm a trunk interface kit. There is either a bad/loose connection somewhere within the system or the module is picking up interference.

Some BMWs are more sensitive to engine noise than others. Here is a link to the version we offer on the website:

How / where has this noise filter to be pluged between the dice and the radio?
I'm from Germany so it wouldn't be very economical to order this filter in the USA.

Tom, just a FU. I got the Nano to work. The only problem is that everytime I turn the car off or go to the NAV menu, I have to reset the DICE to 6-06, then back to 1. It also only scrolls occasionally.

It would be tapped into the middle wire of your 3-pin connector.

It's quite simple. The brown tire on the DICE harness is cut towards the 3-pin connector side.

The GLI has 3 wires, a Red, Blue and Black and the module is directional. Red will go towards the BMW connector side with Blue towards the DICE side. Black will go to a good clean ground.
