All you would need is a replacement module, your existing cables and DSP adapter can be retained:

DICE - SILVERLINE iPod Integration Module Upgrade

These are in stock, let me know if you need anything else.

The iPod classic is version 1.1, I just updated to 1.1.1 right now, let's see if it makes a difference tomorrow.
Please keep me posted on your findings.

We already have 2 choices:

mObridge - iPod integration kit for e90/91/92/93 3-series
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...oducts_id=1651

BMW - iPod Integration Kit for e90/e91/e92 3-series
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=393

e9X vehicles are very lucky on the features they get.

Hi Tom,

I'm interested in the BMW - iPod Integration Kit for e90/e91/e92 3-series for my 2008 3 series coupe. Do you have instructions that I could look at before deciding to make this purchase?

Being that it's a 2008, do you have any knowledge about whether I will need the dealer to activate it?

Thanks for your help.

Todd

Do you have a CD changer present in the vehicle? Otherwise, you will need dealer activation.

Thanks, but $299 - $599 is a bit rich for my blood, at that price I'm happy to wait as my CD player works just fine (not to mention the Sirius option, which only requires a small monthly fee).

Any change we'll see a cheaper DICE Silverline model soon for the newer vehicles?

DICE will only be for ibus vehicles, not the e9X applications.

same behaviour on new iPod classic firmware. It doesn't follow playlist track order. it just plays them by album from a-z.

And well as said before. The iPhone works flawlessly with this, playlist keep order from playlist instead of album order.

Just to confirm, there is a difference in operation between the operation of your iPhone and your Classic?

Thanks for the info, we'll give it a spin on our bench to see if we get the same results.

Just saw this issue today, as I was about to order a DICE kit for my iPod classic. If this is indeed a bug, is there a way for the consumer to upgrade the firmware on the kit? Or are you pretty much stuck with the problem? Thanks.

On on an end-user basis, the module will need to be sent in to DICE for firmware updates.

Since the iPod controls are now locked with SILVERLINE - there is no reason for this type of device, especially at the same cost of the DICE kit itself.

Navigation of the iPod would be virtually impossible in this position. A very serious point to bring up is if the vehicle was involved in an head-on collision and the iPod was projected in front of a deploying airbag, since the iPod isn't secured properly. Here's what I recommend instead:

DICE iPod Cradle w/ Video Support
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=269

You'll notice the iPod is supported by the bottom and the sides. This is necessary in a moving vehicle. I think the concept is very neat, just not practical without something securing the iPod safely. To be perfectly fair, I have not heard a case of this happening yet. I certainly wouldn't want to be the first.

The difference between the trunk vs radio interface kits are explained in the first post, the radio kits offer a simplified installation that can be performed in about 20 minutes, compared to the trunk interface kits.
Tom where does the ipod video cradle mount? can you post pics or email them to me? I am interested in the radio connect model. Is it possible to send the install directions so that I can decide if this is something I am capable of doing? thanks,

You can use any of the ProClip mounting devices we offer here: http://www.europeanautosource.com/in...th=42_93_94_97

Email me directly for a set of instructions and I'll get you set up.

A question for Tom: About a year and a half ago I bought the dice kit for my 2000 528i with dsp. I also got the dsp adapter and the cradle. Recently, I purchased an Iphone. Althought the current dice plays the track on my iphone, does the silver line ad more options for the iphone? What do I have to purchase in order to upgrade to the silverline? Can I use the same cables and dsp adapter? Is there another adapter for the cradle for the iphone? What about bluetooth? or how do I get the cell phone to play through my speakers? Sorry about all the ??'s Thanks, Jeff

No other options other than muting when a call comes in. Neither of the DICE offer telephone support.

Mein Auto: 2004 325xi
Tom/All,

My DICE Silverline arrived from EAS this week. I can't wait to get this installed but I have a few questions.

1) I purchased the model with the Radio Interface. The manual that came with the kit shows a trunk install. Am I missing something? The reason I bought the radio interface version was to avoid a trunk install. Perhaps I got the wrong manual or maybe they don't have a manual for the radio install?

2) The manual states that the car config dip switches should be Off/Off for "late model Business CD" radio systems. I have a 2004 325xi with the Business CD. Can I assume that 2004 is a "late model" and leave the dip switches in the off/off position?

3) It appears the manual is incorrect as it pertains to the iPod config switches. It says "It is recommended that you leave these switches in the default (OFF/ON) position." However, the default position (as my model was shipped) is OFF/OFF. If I want the Locked/DICE mode, should I leave the default OR should the switches be Off/ON? Earlier in this thread scottgbp posed the same question. Tom's response was "the manual is correct". I can't see how the manual can be correct since the unit is shipped off/off and that configuration is not mentioned as a supported configuration.

4) I still have to choose which iPod to purchase. I noticed some discussion on bugs related to the shuffle feature for some iPod models. Any recommendation on which iPod is the least buggy? Anyone know which iPod was used most during product testing?

5) Originally I was planning on installing to the sunglass holder. Now that I know the iPod itself will be locked, I am debating installing to the glove box instead so it will be out of the way. Any opinions on the pros/cons?

Thanks!

Please email me with your full name and I'll get you a set of instructions sent.

We leave the switches all in the UP position for best results.

The older instructions do have an error in them, this has been corrected. The kits remain unchanged in the process.

I recommend getting the largest iPod you can afford. All iPod will exhibit the same features when connected to the DICE.

None to report. iPod placement is not important since all control is performed by the radio and/or steering wheel controls. Simply place it in a convenient place for access when needed to sync music.

Same results and DICE is aware of the issue, we're awaiting a firmware solution in the meantime.

Hi Tom,

received my DICE Silverline today and everything fine after a few errors on my account. Just a few questions. The 15 character Text Display won't work, I can select it but it won't work. Also how can I select the Shuffle function on the 16:9 Navigation screen? And in what mode (Song, Artist, Album) will the shuffle mode work?

Any idea's?

Small font display is very hard to read in a moving vehicle, we prefer the CD6/TRACK6 setting instead. This is limited to 8 characters and scrolls on a right to left formation.
