We have a video on our site showing the BMW kit in action:

BMW - iPod Integration Kit for e65/e66 7-series
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=498

After seeing the mObridge kit in action - most people will forget about the BMW kits rather quickly.

The kit will use the iPod capabilities of the iPhone only and is fully compatible. This is especially good news as the 16GB iPhones were released only today with the 32BG touch.

What is the production date of your 7-series? The BMW kit will only support 3/2005+ while the mObridge will support 2002+ models.

The kit is very easy to install, the existing changer connections are removed - and plugged into the iPod module. To clean up the interior a bit, we removed the in-dash changer and placed the module in its place.

Total install was about 1 hour with pictures.

is there a DIY posted somewhere? Usually, when someone tells me something will take an hour to accomplish, it ends up taking me 3x as long (at least when it comes to cars).

Instructions are included with the kit, we will be making a DIY shortly. This is definitely not a 3 hour job.

does the mObridge kit for a 2004 745 still have the same display features (through nav screen)as the kit for 3/2005 and up?

Both kits offer the same features, however your 7 is not capable of text display. We're working on a way around this, likely requiring additional hardware.

If a 2005 with a production date of 10/4 will not display artist, song, playlist info, etc. on the iDrive/NAV screen then how are you suppose to be able to see what you select when the ipod is stored in the glove compartment??

It will operate exactly the way as your CD Changer does, but a 10/04 (ASK) will not have text support.

Not a guessing game at all - the earlier ASK systems do not have text support. This is a limitation of the BMW, not the mObridge unit.

Further development is underway to see if text can be enabled, likely it will require additional hardware. We'll post our findings as progress is made.

How does the mobridge blow away the BMW kit? I have the BMW kit in my 07 and it does leave something to be desired as compared to Audi's interface.

If it's that much better I'll check it out. Where is the video of the mobridge product on your website? I see the BMW interface video.

Can I assume I just pop off my flat dash plate where the changer used to be and unplug the BMW kit and plug in the mobridge?

Videos will be coming with an upcoming install of a 7-series, 5- series and 3-series shortly, we're also performing some fishing touches on other development.

Features of the mObridge include:

- Supports iPod Mini, 4th Gen, 4th Gen Photo, Nano, 2nd Gen Nano, iPod Video, 3rd Gen Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Touch, iPhone
- Firmware upgradeable via memory card for future features.
- 24 bit ADC stereo for a more complete experience.
- 500uA Sleep Current. Lower sleep current draw than OEM specifications. - Configurable for all vehicles via iTune's MP3 tag.
- Configurable for First five playlists, numbered playlists or full folder support for iPod browsing.
- Paging to gain access to lists greater than the CD limitation of 99 giving full access to the iPod. Also possible on radio's without text support.
- Allows for unlimited Playlists
- Allows for unlimited Artists
- Allows for unlimited Song directories
- Last disc, last folder, last track memory retention for fast startup.
- Access to Playlists/Artists/Albums/Genre/All Songs.
- Random, Repeat, Scan options.
- Auxiliary input for external audio source.
- Exit iPod lockout mode for manual control with the ability to continue track up/down from the steering wheel controls.
- iPod USB charging.
- Bypass switch to remove interface from the MOST ring, allowing "undetectable mode" for dealer visits.
- Dedicated Auxiliary override for phone system input.

You will need to be activated for a CD Changer in order to utilize the kit. The mObridge unit can reside in the place where your CD Changer was before, we have a blockoff plate to clean up the interior.

Thanks, I already have the block off plate. So I would have to have the dealer reprogram my car back to the changer. The list you provided doesn't discern the differences between the two that well. I'll wait for the video to see the features in action.

If you already have a CD Changer activated - no dealer trip is necessary.

We completed the install with our 2004 5-series over the weekend with mObridge and with great success. We are now equipped with in-house CIP programming capabilities making dealer trips a thing of the past for vehicles not originally equipped with a changer.

All options are available on the 5-series like the 7, there is no text display since it's not CCC based. We're going to get the vehicle back in for some further evaluation as well as video integration soon.

More to come.....

Hi There,

Can you confirm if it is possible to ship to the UK? also as I understand it my 2002 E65 745i with CD multichanger will not display any track names etc and will basically operate in the same way as the current CD changer? When / IF the hardware upgrade for text display becomes available will this be available as an upgrade to the basic kit if I buy today???

Thanks from Sunny England!
