Traffic pro and OEM CD changer

For some reason my BMW traffic pro wont regonize my OEM changer. WHen I first reconnect the battery it reads loading then gives me an error message. After that it just reads NO CD. I checked the connection at the TP and it is the correct way not upside down. THe CD changer is PN 82111469404 so it should be compatible. ANy suggestions? THe CD has power and reads all the discs when a cartridge is inserted, so I think its an I bus issue.

THanks,

JMC

Is there a wire going to pin 7 of the BMW 17 radio connector on the TP side?

I know the pins for the TP, but I dont know the pins for the OEM plug. DO you have a pic of the OEM plug with pin numbers for reference?

Thank you,

JMC

I just figured out the problem, I think. THe I bus connector to the changer in the back should have 3 wires correct. Red/white, brown, and white/yellow. Mine only has two wires I am missing the white/yellow. Now the question is where could it be!!!!

Pin 3 white/green/yellow.

Some Z3's missed the I-bus but I thought they were just roadsters but it's both.
What year is your car?

My car is production 9/98. So basically I have to run the ibus wire from pin 7 on the OEM radio plug all the way back to the cd changer pin 3, that sucks!!!!

Thanks, as always you have the answers!!

THe PN in the write up is incorrect? I ordered that number from the dealer and it said "repair cable". If you have one to sell I will take that also. Paypal ok?

I'm sorry I thought you were correcting the PN saying 201 is actually 207, but you mean they are the same?

The coupe write up you linked shows 207 which is in the system.
201 you posted isn't.

I put everything in this week and it works great. Running the wire was easy, I actually was able to snake it under the rear compartment divider without having to remove it, it took all of 10 minutes.

I also fixed the ground loop and speed volume wire while I was at it.

Thanks for all the info!!!!
