Finished a few things...

I gave my E30 an early valentine, wrapping up some maintenance stuff I started last October:

Power steering fluid flush, new reservoir and clamps
Brake caliper rebuild, front and back
Hawk HPS, front and back
Brake fluid flush with Motul 600
New OE spark plugs
Redline 75-90 in the gearbox and diff (october)
Flushed the coolant with OE BMW coolant (october)

Now I need to save for a clutch and timing belt

good job. I'm need to do #3 and 4 sometimes next week.

Thanks man. As inexpensive as these little cars are, the maintenance adds ups with a quickness

nice. im going to put on new rotors and hawk-ht10 pads soon. will flush fluid with motul 600. also installing brake cooling kit. prepping her for track season!

Kish, does that kit impede lock-to-lock steering travel?

There is ALWAYS something to do. But the gratification when the E30 is purring is well worth the time and money

It should not. i'll know better after I install it I will be running hawk ht-10s, new centric blanks, motul fluid and I have stoptech ss brake lines in all ready. braking should be pretty solid

Question, will the HT10's cool too fast with the ducts? Those need to have a bunch of heat in them, don't they?

yeah they definitely need heat build up to have a better bite but i don't think the ducting will cause them to cool off too fast.

How is the interior coming along Mark?

K, I guess it depends on the track, but I've seen E36 M3's (heavier cars) with thier ducts blocked off.

L, I decided to leave it as is and not pursue the leather dye for the headrests, seat backs and rear seat. I'll have to look for a standard rear bench due the bambino.

Honestly, I don't recall Let me know how they work out for you cause I was in the market for a duct kit but factory 3 only sells them for '89 up, plus I don't know how I would mate it to my BMP bumper. If they work well for you, then I'll invest the time and effort to research a solution for my application.

i thought they had one for the pre-89s but i can see how the BMP might be an issue. will definitely let you know.

New Timing Belt, Cam seal, and Cam Flange O-Ring
New Water Pump
Brake Master Cylinder
Valve Adjustment

According to Bullet, the Timing Belt was close to breaking... thank God we caught it in time...

Don't know, exactly. The odo was broken when I bought the car, and the PO said there was approximately 25K on the rebuilt motor, so I imagine there was about 50K on the belt with 8 DE's

Oh so glad to not have to deal with that anymore. I get yelled at for working on stuff as it is. This summer I think I am gonna take my E30 apart and give it a good cleaning maintenance run through. Hell I may even paint it, that is if I don't get caught up with my new toy....

Yeah, I've heard they should be changed at 50K... I thought it was 60K
