Windshield Wiper Issue (Didnt wanna Hijack the other poste's thread)
On my 94' 325i I am havin an issue with my wiper blades. They seem to work just fine as far as operation is concerned. Its the stopping part thats the problem.
They stop halfway in the middle of the windshield instead of going all the way down to the resting position just above the hood. When i run them they go all the way up and down like they should but once i turn them off the stop in the wrong spot. I dont wanna push them down manually cuz i dont wanna break anything. Any ideas on what the problem could be???

are you stopping them by turning them of or turning the car off? if you turn the car off the the wipers still on they will stop where ever they are. good luck.

No i mean if i turn the stalk to the "off" position they stop in the middle of the windshield. Like they think thats where they're supposed to stop

i have that happen to my old corollla so what i did was time it correctly to that original position where it's suppose to be, lol, but since it's a bmw i really have no idea.

Hi if you turn your wipers on they work normally right ? all the way up and down but just start and stop from the midlle of the screen if so i would take the wipers off the whole arm undo the two nuts 13mm i think switch the wipers on then off so it sits in its off position and refit the wipers back where there supoosed to sit and retighten them they may have slipped or loosened.

Funny thing is, i've done that already. I had to replace the cowling under the windshield and those had to come off. Puttin them back to the "seated" position didnt fix the problem. Its been like this for a while but its really becoming an issue now in cleveland with the heavy snow.
When i drive, snow & slush gets stuck to the bottom of the blades since they are up and it smears slush across the windshield instead of wiping it off makin things a tad dangerous

paidnfull,
I'd say do what estoril_blu says, just to reset them again. If it still doesn't work, then I suspect your control module's probably on its way. Good luck! |

Is the control module an easy fix?

I think the control module is behind the glovebox, switch on the wipers and listen out for clicking relays.

Will do. Is replacing the module pretty easy if that is the problem?
