4.6is Pics

I was home for Easter and got some pics of my dad's (unwashed) '03 4.6is. He's got the Imola Red interior but the battery died while I was taking shots of the exterior and their new dog. Next time I'm home I'll try and get more.

It is one FAST vehicle. There is power everywhere. and the way the power spools all the way to redline is amazing. It feels in a way like it is supercharged. The exhaust note is addictive.

The speed sensitive steering takes some getting used to but at higher speeds it really works and this truck grips. You can pitch it around corners and curves with confidence and the body roll that you'd expect from an SUV just isn't there.

I was blown away when I took it out for a good drive. The way this engine acts is a work of art.

How did it do in the snow over the winter with stock tires?

I am blown away by how well our 3.0 with the base suspension handles. The difference of the 4.6 is like a 318i to an M3!

I changed out the stocks with 18" Modas and winter tires for him. It did fine in the snow. It really was never driven in the heavy snow. From what I know it performed fine in and throughout the winter months.

I actually test drove an X5 3.0 a few years back after having driven an ML430. After the ML the X5 3.0 felt light and agile.....it even felt quicker than the Mercedes v-8. All around the X5 is a great, great vehicle!

My dad bought it 2 years ago for a bargain. It had 9k on it and today it has around 12k. It's got the supercharged I-6 in it not the V-12. A DB7 with that engine is rare right now and the prices are much more down to earth. He basically got the car he's always loved (it took him a long time to find it). Trust me though......it's British and it has the typical British reliability issues.

What a beautiful car though

I also have a 03 4.6is and have taken in the snow many of times never the deep stuff but lots of ice on the roads covered over with about 6 inches of snow and it handled like a charm even with the stock 20 inch meats. I love driving the thing so much when I got it I prefered taking it over my 02 m3 until I put the upgraded 19" on my M. True story
