Here we go again....Sunroof and Leak issues Please advise

Hello all, new to this so I would appreciate the help. I wish I WOULD HAVE READ THE FORUM SOONER!!! Replace sunroof with new or refurbish or trade car for another x3 under warranty. Please help. Bought 2004 x3 from auction with 57k , sunroof would open and close but only front interior shade was working (rear was assumed lost) closet BMW dealer 100 miles away went to "authorized repair center" he referred me to upholstery shop THEY HAD CAR 12 DAYS and ordered parts from Germany (400 bucks) and labor was 480. I said cool. After service , roof remained in "tilt" position. He showed me in manual where it had to be "initialized" by BMW service center. By this time discovered 3 inches of water in rear passenger side "stuff holder" Drove all the way to dealer explained problem, figured it just needed "initalization" dealer said it would be 3300 to replace or 300 to close back (i brought it in closed) I said no,they reluctantly closed it somehow but said it was Wedged and needed replacing (motor still operational though). They supposedly cleaned drains and manually closed roof. A week later I discovered 5.5 inches of water in same well and opposite side carpet was damp. DROVE 100 miles ONE WAY again. After 1.5 days later dealer claimed that they closed both exterior AND INTERIOR SHADE and someone had opened it and caused to leak. WHAT A CROCK OF ....XKIJAFHFA !!! Also added that water had damaged a "TCU" and vaccuum hose causing check engine light to come on. Received car back, check engine light back on Sunroof not fixed, and still have leaks in back area. Debating on repairing are there good refurbished units out there or should i get the "2007 sunroof" that the threads mention (currently has 64K miles) OR trading to get something under warranty . I would appreciate ANY ANY ANY feedback. Please help. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Well, I'm pretty sure that any authorized BMW repair centre has a warranty on their parts and labour. I understand that it can be frustrating especially if you're far from a dealership. But keep your cool, keep your receipts, and explain to the manager that you drove 100mi, paid for their service, and expect the problem fixed the first time. You can also consider a call to BMW Customer Relations, offering your repair receipts as evidence and stating that the water leakage was not fixed (or even made worse) by the repair centre.

thank you for your response. I did speak to Service manager and BMW customer relations. I will seek a second opinion from another dealership, however, still unsure if I should pay the 2500-3300 bucks or just sale the vehicle. Thanks again.
