I just bought the $200.00 wiring hrness for the 2002 X5 and hooked it up. There were really no directions but it was quite obvious how to do this. My problem is, the harness and the connection point to the harness do not have and power when the lights are on, blinkers, nor the brakes. Does anyone no of a trick for this?
Did you also get the electronic control module (towing module) with the wiring harness? If you don't have the module the vehicle doesn't know you've hooked up trailer lights. This is how the vehicle knows when and what to send the right signals to the trailer lights. Hope that helps.
