Fuse Box... WTF?

I opened the fuse box the other day to see if the cigarette lighter fuse is gone and there are fuses all over the place and nothing says what is what.

Anyone have a diagram thing showing or know what fuse is for what?

there should be a diagram on the box cover. If it's not there, you could also get a diagram from the Bentley maunal but it differs with different batches of cars... My car for example is different from the diagram in the manual

the diagram on the cover is completely different to the way the fuses are arranged in the box

on the cover it just has what fuse to use for each thing in the car it doesnt say where that fuse is in the box

So the diagram is totally different? It should have numbers for all the fuse locations and wht number corresponds to what fuse. I guess maybe the previous owner replaced the cover with a cover from a different batch? in that case, try the bentley. See if the amps match... if they do then follow it...

Yeah, the diagram is on the bottom of the cover, I think they should all be the same for almost all the E36s except convertibles because E36s share almost every part. The diagram is kind of confusing at first, but its 100% accurate and easy once you get a hang of it. Its really hard to try and explain in words, I could show you, but I dont even want to attempt to try to explain in words. Haha...sorry

If all else fails there is always the electrical troubleshooting manual http://www.wedophones.com/Manuals/BM...g%20Manual.pdf , it will definately tell you what is what.

its definately under the cover it tells you on the list which no is what fuse and the rateing on the list right? then look at the boxes oblong shapes no 1-10 11-20 etc something like that and look at the fuse box and you can work out which fuse is which just match the picture to the box got it if not just keep looking at the cover and the box till you do ha ha
