Yep, this is Doug's second round of them. I got one during the first run when he only offered them in bead-blasted, bare aluminum.

I painted mine satin black and clearcoated it.

This fellow started the whole thing.
It's all his fault; now I may have to look for a secretary, just to type replies to all the e-mails.

That'll teach you to do good work. Start turning out shoddy stuff and we'll leave you alone...

Nope. I've seen a couple of my friends with their own machine shops try that approach, and they DID get left alone.
One went back to work at Honeywell, and the other is delivering building supplies for Menards.

Who is selling them? Is this for Z3 and Z4? I like to get it chrome if I can get my hands on one for my M Coupe.

Unless the Z4 shares the same part, it's probably Z3-only. I haven't seen the Z4 hood release to compare.

It is at the same location for both Z3/4. It looks the same, but one can never tell if it fits. Is Doug selling these? I'll order one and try it out. If it doesn't fit the Z4, I can use it on the Z3.

Looks like I have four leftovers, if my count is correct.

Another guy ordered one for his Z3 and is interested in one for his wife's Z4.
(I don't know if or when I'll make them; too much "real" work is piling up on me right now.)

Order one if you'd like, or just wait until he receives his and tries it on the Z4.

The Z4 handle is obviously shaped a bit differently than the Z3 counterpart, but it looks from the pictures I've seen like the mechanism that it fits onto is the same as the Z3, so this one might possibly work.

Sorry, I forgot to reply.
Suddenly I find myself trying to deal with literally hundreds of e-mails; not part of my usual routine.

Yes, I did receive them, and they look great.
I've been completely swamped, and it will be a few more days before I can whip up a mirror-image handle.

Bear with me...

I have to ask what this does to improve upon the plain plastic handle.

I hesitated for a couple of weeks, but ...

It won't break like the plastic handle, is extremely well made, and it looks cool. It's a worthwhile mod!

Project update...

The anodizer has my last two batches ready finished, so I'll be shipping all remaining orders by tomorrow afternoon. (well, all except the one RHD one; haven't machined that one yet).
