E36 316 Oxygen Sensor

Hi guys hope you're all doing great. Just have a quick question, I've been told that maybe my O2 sensor's got a problem, but I can't seem to locate it AT ALL. I've tried searching online but not any luck as you can tell. Can someone PLEASE tell me where its likely to be located on a 316i? I know some of you dude's in the US didnt get that model but in Europe, there are loads i think. it'll be a massive help. thanks.

and also...

a few months ago, i read somewhere that you can't do any drifts with the 316i due to it being so heavy and small powered.. but just did a search on youtube n there are LOADS and even some 316i's with TURBO. Now while a lot of you may know this, its totally news to me, so i'm gnan keep hold of this for sure!

Thanks haelo, but am pretty much of a noob n this being my first proper car n all, am learning a lot still. when u say on the exhaust, do u mean the exhaust manifold? sorry if i'm confusing you but i have very basic understanding of the engine bay at the moment, so just trying to get to the point i suppose.

Part numbers and diagram for 316i manufactured up to 01/1996 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...27&hg=18&fg=10

Part numbers and diagram from 01/1996 onwards http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...27&hg=18&fg=10

Get the relevant part number for the O2 sensor, order it from the dealer or pick one up from a breaker's yard, fit it, or get someone to do it. It essentially slots into a hole in the exhaust before the muffler, although this diagram doesn't make it obvious how.

When I say 'exhaust' in this sense I mean the exhaust system. Some cars have O2 sensors on the manifold, some on the pipe before and/or after the catalytic converter(s)

The O2 sensor is there to tell the engine computer how much oxygen is in the exhaust gasses so the computer can judge whether or not it's fueling correctly.
