Goodyear ResponsEdge tires

I have an "04 with the sport package, the most punishing ride possible. Six months and 8,000 miles ago, I replaced the OEM Bridgestones with Goodyear ResponsEdge tires. I also switched from 18"to 17" rims. Here's my report:
  • The ride is much better, still firm but not back-aching hard anymore. No more complaints from passengers on the back seat.
  • The correct pressure seems to be 32 lb on front and 36 lb on back.
  • The tires seemed to have hit the sweet spot at about 1,500 miles.
  • After 8,000 miles there is no visible wear and no road noise.
  • Wet and snow traction are better than the Bridgestones, and I didn't lose any dry weather handling.

So far , I am completely satisfied with my purchase.

I want to say its the tires. I did the opposite of you. I upsized from 17" to 18" and put on Kumhos. Now the ride is noticeably better, but the at-the-limit handling and feel has gone out the window.
